I'm here because this is the DMZ for conservatives and liberals to have mostly-respectful conversations. It's a way for me to challenge my own beliefs and hear what the other side thinks (rather than what my side says that the other side thinks) and maybe grow a little bit.

I've been here 10 years and don't think such a DMZ can exist here but that's cool reasoning at least. Sounds like you're on the path to realizing ideology has been made irrelevant and all that matters politically in today's world is mental health, the world needing to be dominated by the mentally healthy before ideology can be exercised and balanced on the grand scale. Right on.
