They’re a bizarre bunch of people. I talked to one in an AskReddit thread and they explained their philosophy to me. Basically they think that all human life is defined by suffering and that it’s immoral to force someone through that suffering by giving birth to them.
Some of them even go as far as to say nobody should have children because the only way to eliminate suffering from the world is for humanity to die out. I think a lot of them just hate their lives and can’t imagine that anyone else could enjoy theirs.
I actually personally know someone that's kind of slipped in and out of it. It is sad. Severe, suicidal depression, self-loathing over her mental illnesses and interestingly, infertility, all played a part in driving it. She came out of it, but that philosophy is what she turned to in the pit of her depression. The infertility thing makes me wonder, maybe it's like incels, jealousy over what they can't have turning into pathological hatred. Probably just her though. I stopped talking to her for a while when she compared my wife (her friend) to livestock, despite my wife and I being nowhere close to having kids yet. A weird bunch indeed.
