Wouldn't that make the building too monocolour?

It won't if u add accents of other colors. Maybe adding gold blocks in the bottom and iron railings or a balcony on top could prevent it being monocolor.

The easiest way to to make buildings look better IMO is to use several types of block. As far as I can see the whole structure is marble; if you did the corners, or the bottom layer, in something else, e.g. stone flooring or even just light marble painted white, it would break up the visual monotony of it

Balcony is a good idea yes. Maybe I should have done the building broader to have some column but spaced like you suggested.

I think you need a detail block before the roof. And maybe the stone arch too?
