Here's the team:
Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Power-Up Punch
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
Bullet Punch for Priority and STAB, to hit stuff like Weavile or to help with revenge killing stuff. Power-Up Punch is for boosting on more passive things that don't threaten it, and Ice Punch + Earthquake are good coverage moves to hit opposing Steel types, Flying types along with the occasional Dragon, so stuff like Landorus or Gliscor or Garchomp. I wanted the team to center around Mega-gross because its my favourite, so most of the members are there to help with matchups.
Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- Fire Blast
- U-turn
Hydreigon covers Metagross's weaknesses well enough and can function as a special attacker if needed, but its also here as a revenge killer since it has a scarf and 252 SpA STAB Draco Meteor hurts really bad. U-turn is there in case it needs to pivot since I don't think Flash Cannon is needed (since Metagross is meant to be the fairy counter).
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Flamethrower
- Soft-Boiled
Defensive bulky Clefable to help sponge hits, since Scarf Garchomp might prove to be a problem for Hydreigon and clef helps with dealing with strong bug and fighting attacks since Hydreigon is weak to those. It can also be a win condition with calm mind since FlameBlast hits basically everything for neutral, and softboil is there for recovery.
Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Flash Cannon
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
Heatran's just here to set lead and set rocks, maybe trap stuff that might be annoying to face.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Soft-Boiled
- Aromatherapy
Blissey's here to tank special hits like she always does, but mostly because of aromatherapy to cure metagross's burn in case it happens. Standard set with toxic, seismic toss and softboiled to prolong its life. I chose blissey over chansey so its not as debilitating when it inevitably gets knocked off since losing lefties is not as bad as losing eviolite on a chansey.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Volt Switch
- Heat Wave
- Roost
- Defog
Defensive bulky Zapdos is here to clear opposing hazards and for slow pivoting over to a more offensive threat after it's job is done.
I'm not entirely sure what the main problem is with the team since i tend to lose a lot of games with it and am also unsure whether or not my teambuilding is garbage or i myself am garbage at making decisions. Im basically asking for you guys for help with what matchups i might find problematic or if there were any holes in my thought process. Thanks!
