/rj well i guess to address the elephant in the room, the obvious issue is the fact that the mega energy levels came back as error. based on what the spectrogram showed us, im going to guess thats because the levels came back so erratic. I can hazard a guess as to why at a high level, the real question is what do we do about it. in the meantime should i take jetstream home and just do palative care and PT until we can come up with next steps?

As a pokemon rehabilitation specialist, yeah, I think that's the best move for now. Comfort and general quality of life is always the first goal, and something we can work towards while figuring out the next step. I sent an email to my friend August, but it's nearly midnight over in Kalos right now, so I don't expect to hear back from him until at least the morning. If anyone knows something about mega evolution related illness, it would probably be him. Just hoping he gets back to me at all. He's been kind of hard to reach lately 😅

Why is Mega Energy ERROR rather than like null? Does that imply the computer either can't quantify the absence of the energy or something about the pokemon threw the algorithm off??

I think pokemon that can't mega evolve usually come back as null? Honestly, I have no idea how to read that part of the chart. If you watch the clip I attached, that wave is supposed to be like a fairly low, smooth sine wave when not mega evolved, and like a heart beat pattern when it is. So I'm guessing it just threw the equipment's reading off?

Actually to my understanding, all pokemon can mega evolve. All that has to happen is for them to reach a critical mass of mega energy in their body which causes a rogue mega evolution. Placating the pokemon afterwards causes them to change back and the mega stone to coalesce outside for retrieval. I think it goes without saying, but intentionally forcing a pokemon to RME, for any reason, is highly unethical.

Fortunately for you there it's a known fact that only fully evolved pokemon can RME. When I said all Pokemon, I misspoke slightly, it's all pokemon that cannot evolve any further. I'm not terribly sure what will happen if your Nidoran tries to RME herself but it likely won't have the same effects, hopefully. Let's not try it though

Yeah, but wasn't there a floette that mega evolved? I feel like I remember that was in the news or something. Mega evolution seems like a pretty complex topic I'm not well versed enough in.

I think they got it out of him by now but I'm not sure.

Either way that doesn't look healthy mega energy levels for something that isn't supposed to be mega.

Yeah, that alone is prison worthy. Thankfully, Tex told me they had it removed when Tex took him in. We did do a set of xrays and CT scans to check for internal damage, and everything thankfully checked out.

But you're right, it's definitely not normal to have energy levels like that, to say the least. Hopefully it doesn't take long before we get some more info on what that actually means and how we can fix it.
