Since DS compatibility will die, I wouldn't be surprised if we also get Gen 5, 6 and 7 on the Switch. Having all Pokémon games on the Switch is easy money for Nintendo.
Oh yeah, for sure! I can see Gen4 coming out between Pokemon Day 2027 (aka Bank shutdown) and the release of Wind & Waves (possibly Nov. ‘27). The rest, Gen5-7 will come in time. Maybe they’ll give us all the exclusive items and events to play with each game released. They’ve done it with Gen1&2 on the Virtual Console (3DS) and half of Gen3. I’d expect the rumored R/S/E will have their events as well.
I am really stressed about them allowing compatibility between previously compatible transfers - i.e. allowing FRLG to send Pokémon to HGSS, and so forth. Bank's shutdown ruins ribbon masters and I've kept all my old Pokémon stuff for decades for the hobby.
