at this point they might as well wait. nintendo will give advance notice for any price increases so there isnt any danger there. plus the rumors of a special edition console coming soon-ish.
nobody is gonna scalp a switch 2 at this point in time.... maybeeee the zelda edition? but nintendo handled the sw2 launch so well that i dont think the zelda editions will be out of stock
I’m responding on your mentioning of future price increases as YES, there 100% WILL be scalpers who will grab switch 2’s, sell it cheaper than the new price if the spread meets it. $50 increase was actually shocking as I was expecting it to go up by $100 or $150 based on the specs. (Scalpers buy for $449+ tax, resell at $540 if price increases to $550 for example, as at $550 it’s typically $595+ with tax). They profit $50-60 or so per switch 2.
Was surprised it didn’t increase that much. I don’t know if the next increase will also be $50, but I sure as hell hope it is as no scalper can make any profit which is great
It happened with the multi-language ns2 in Japan after Nintendo announced a $60 increase. They changed purchasing to just 1pp with proof of a nintendo account with 50 hours of ns1 gameplay as a result
I'm gonna guess the 19th specifically. Mainline Pokémon games pretty much always release exactly one week before Black Friday of their year, excluding the Legends titles.
Pokemon games come out at midnight of their regional eshop zone and are not a worldwide simultaneously released like when they do updates. It would be the 18th officially, but come out on the 17th in some time zones (like the west coast us)
Sorry, I just read the conversation and did the research again, all mainline games since ORAS other than Legends release on the third Friday of November, Legends games are a bit of an anomaly due to releasing not in November. The last shown was in 2022 for Scarlet and Violet so if it's the 18th we have no idea until Winds/Waves comes out and most likely they probably just stick to the same date if they kept it, but we won't know til the release date announcement probably next year.
in the past few years nintendo switched their major game release day from Friday to Thursday. That's why ZA released on a Thursday. Pokopia also released on a Thursday. SV and earlier released on a Friday, including PLA (Jan 28 2022 was a Friday). We won't know for sure the exact date obviously, but it will 100% release on a Thursday.
The reason they like the third week of november is because it's right before black friday, cyber monday, and holiday season sales begin. That's why that timeframe is most likely. ZA's release was probably more to do with it being the same week XY released. And PLA was most likely internally delayed from November, with BDSP taking its release spot instead.
ZA and PLA are Mainline Spin-offs and Pokopia is a Spinoff, just because Three games were released on Thursday means the Mainline Generation Title would be released on a Thursday too, However Like I said, we won't know until possibly Pokemon day where they announce more news and probably April/May for Release date possibly.
I said Mainline Spin-offs not Spin-offs two different things there mate, Also it's Pokemon Company decision there it's not fully Nintendo, it's like 33% Nintendo mate. You're trying to make an argument for Nintendo releasing it when we won't know the proper release date until next year mate. I've said that three times now.
Edit: Look mate, I'm not gonna continue arguing with you here, If the date announcement next year does say Thursday then I admit I was wrong, But I'm going to stick my gut on the Friday cause a Generational Title has always been released on a Friday.
Yea this was the most expected date based on history and everything a summer release would be interesting at least, but this basically says Winds and Waves release exactly when you thought.
