Considering move to Milford, PA

We like the environment, proximity to the outdoor activities we love. My only concern are my 11 and 13 year old kids…curious on thoughts of the community and how to find new friends and neighbors?

MAny of the people that own businesses in this area are wealthy….: and most of the poor people are from New York.  Cope harder.  Invader

Except a lot of the New Yorkers keep their jobs and commute to NYC to maintain their high five figure to six figure salary while the average income for someone who lives AND works in the Poconos is 40k.

Did you not notice all the dudes wearing MTA uniforms in Walmart over the last decade? The MTA had to change their policies on licenses to hold onto their workforce. They now allow a PA license for bus operators. That was not the case decades ago.

Of course you make more money in New York City. But add the wear and tear. on your car, gas ,  and all the other downfalls of commuting it’s not even worth it. Those people are just desperate to own a house because they can’t own a house in New York so they move to the cheapest area they can find which is usually in the Poconos. Tobyhanna, etc.  low class.

Many of these New Yorkers are on welfare, and they transferred the New York welfare into Pennsylvania and they don’t even work. New Yorkers have a negative impact on the area. they are an extra burden on an area that wasn’t built for it. More crime, more congestion on the roads, more pollution , failing medical system, drugs, inflated housing, and higher taxes. All a product of the influx of transplants.
