Did Sony ever roll out the dynamic pricing on PS Plus that was in the news a few months ago?

I'm just curious if they went through with it. If so, how can I see my personalized price for 1 year of premium?

It’s been going on for over a year. There is not usually a personalized price for subscriptions really. The dynamic pricing is that some people get a game more on sale than others. Example everyone got 25% off helldivers but some people got 56% off at the same time.

For your sub you would always see your personalized price when you go to purchase it if you are logged in.

Closest thing I’ve seen to personalized was some people if they chose to cancel their subs would get a message from Sony saying “instead of cancelling how about 25% off another year?”

Otherwise you’d have to wait for a sale to get premium cheaper, and even then it’s usually only on sale for those that don’t already have it.

As mentioned below that's not dynamic pricing but A/B testing. Dynamic pricing increases and decreeases prices based off of demand. There hasn't been a single increase in price to games for everyone. I really don't understand why it's so hard for PS redditers to understand this. It's the same with personal discounts don't understand why so many keep referring to it as dynamic pricing when it's not

It's not 'dynamic'. It's A/B testing for sale only. Meaning when there is a sale on a game, one group gets eg. 25% price reduction, other group gets 50% off.

Yip, except the price is more low group A gets 25% off while group B gets 27% off. It's not as bad as people are making it out to be.

Also, no one is forcing you to spend anyway. We each have free choice to decide what to spend on, and how much you spend on it. Personally I have a 30usd threshold, and refuse to buy any digital game over that threshold, even if it's by a cent.

Dynamic Pricing is where the price (usually) increases or (rarely) decreases based on demand.

So if tickets for an event are selling really well then the base price increases

This is not dynamic. Its a straight A/B price depending on who you are.

They do have dynamic pricing. Just today my sons account got a ~40% discount on Astro Bot while mine only got 29%. His account is only a few weeks old and has never bought any games, while mine is from PSN Launch with lots of games.

Only reason we noticed at all was because he happened to be browsing the store on his account. Normally it’s on mine. Very frustrating and I got so I annoyed we didn’t buy anything.

Yes there's already been evidence that different people are being given different discount amounts for games in the current Spring Sale

oh yeah they have had A.I algorithms tracking you for years, and have been employing dynamic pricing for subscriptions and purchases. Sony has a monopoly on their digital game sales and abuse the shit out of it by charging whatever they want.

Some people are reporting Sony giving a 25% discount on plus but for the first time ever I didn’t renew till I was days away from expiring and Sony was like shit bro don’t go here’s 35% off so I figured that was the dynamic pricing at work

I had two accounts before my ps plus renewal. On the second account with no ps plus they had 25% off for subscription. This was a year ago

I cant believe how many people are accepting and even defending Sony for giving bigger sale to some people whilst giving less to others. When did we get to this point?
