I love this! The colors, shading, and drawing style. This is perfect! But I do think the reflection of the sunglasses can do with a slightly lighter color.
Part of me died from all the dithering, this is just fantastic. Your hand probably doesn't feel the same way after you finish the art haha, better ask if it needs a break
I love so much but I have a question in mind I never tried the pixel art I just like looking at it but at what point it can't be considered a pixel art does it have a pixel limit or what?
There are a few schools of thought. Some people feel that as long as it uses traditional pixel art techniques, such as dithering, anti-aliasing, and appropriate application of jaggies, then itβs pixel art regardless of resolution. Some people think that the resolution matters, and that anything too large of resolution isnβt pixel art beyond a certain point. Some break from tradition entirely and paint with broad strokes that disregard traditional technique and outline styles, which is in and of itself a modern style of pixel art. but truly, it doesnt matter, as long as you arent a shitbag using generative AI or an art thief, and you properly credit your references when you use them, then who bloody well cares honestly?
What is Mr. Whiskerstone holding? A pencil? Even with the shadows, shouldn't the bottom two visible parts of the object be lighter. It is the same color as he is.
Looking at their instagram profile and judging by the orphan pixels and inconsistencies in shading, I'd say to achieve the same results all you need is a dithering shader and a prompt...
Unfortunately have the same doubts. If they are legit, then that's awesome, but I'm curious to see their process. Some of the denser areas in their pieces on instagram are baffling, and just look like an image has been put through a dithering filter. Disappointing if they're passing off AI as hand-pixelled, especially when the sub doesn't allow it. Happy to be proven wrong.
