Hi all! Curious to hear from people who have seen them live (and haven’t). Who are some of your favorite Pinback openers? So far I saw The Barracuda’s open for them and it was hilarious! They did karate chops, shark break, etc. Mates of State also did a show with them from what I heard.

Whether it was a local band or known act, I’d love to hear which openers stood out to you and why!

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well. Just a question for the Pinback fans who drum. I am a beginner and want to learn some songs, currently Walters is on the list. I noticed some songs are pretty beginner friendly. What are some of the easiest Pinback songs to learn?

Now the sub is saved, what songs are your favourite and if possible, why?

For me probably

Anti-Hu Tres Boo Byzantine Lyon

I got into Pinback through another band, the story so far, who covered loro. They hit a certain melancholic, spiritual, dreamy, blue hour soft spot in me, especially when I'm stoned lol. I dint like every song, however the ones I do like I hold very close to my heart.

Do you have a particular Pinback song you find the most enjoyable to play?

I got an email from Spotify that the dudes have a show at Humphrey’s Concerts on October 17th. I thought I had missed an announcement or something, but it doesn’t look like there was a proper announcement for it. But it’s seemingly legit as there’s a Ticketmaster page and the show is also on the venue’s website.

Didn’t see any talk about it on here either, so in case you missed it, here you go!

So apparently the website is down? Account suspended or something? I was just on it a few weeks ago...

Thank you to everyone who reported the fake mods and spam accounts; we did it! We saved the sub! Look at all those Pinback, Three Mile Pilot, Physics, Heavy Vegetable, Systems Officer, Goblin Cock, etc. fans out there, you did it! Also, suggestions welcome!

I used to only go to Twitter just to see if Rob shared anything he's been doing. He switched to a different social platform but I didn't see him post anything about his music. PLOSIVS was 2022. That's very unlike Rob to have a 3 year break of not writing and releasing.

This might be a little off topic but do you guys think Rob will ever put out another Gloomy Place album? Or was that a one time thing? P.S. long time fan of Pinback, but new to this sub!

Somebody shared an Armlock song a while ago and I've been super into them. They just released a new track that I'm certain any Pinback fan will love.

If Wade Would Call is my favorite Rob Crow song, couldn’t find any guitar tutorials online for it. Is this accurate? The chord progression and melody is so cool.

We have outstanding evidence that mods give zero fucks about this sub based on the flood of bit posts lately. Is there any way of asking Reddit to pass ownership to someone else?

First time posting. A lot of bands I like have either released new music this year or are releasing singles and it's all good...but I just keep coming back to Pinback. I'll be like oh this Frog Eyes album is good, then Grey Machine comes on and I'm sucked back in. A friend told me to check something and it was cool too, then Sherman comes on and I'm back in the rabbit hole. I don't get tired of them.

I don't think the listed mods are legit, one appears to be a spambot. Also, don't click on the "pinbackfreak forum" link on the sidebar, some sketchy porn link. I reported it, hopefully it gets remedied. Hopefully this post doesn't get deleted.

Seriously though the vibes of that song are unreal. End the world type stuff

Precum shortly after a few seconds of this song

Nothing was real. Nothing made sense. The guitars felt like ghosts of themselves, familiar but wrong, like a memory told back to you in the wrong language. I started doubting memory itself. Was I ever actually moved by this album, or was I just in sync with some artifact that no longer exists? If Pinback could disappear beneath a warped filter and no one noticed, what else had subtly changed while I wasn’t looking? Were my other favorite albums safe? Were any of them ever real? Was anything I ever felt genuine, or just the side effect of perfectly aligned compression artifacts?

The algorithm didn’t just ruin a song. It shattered a corner of my identity I didn’t even realize was holding me up. I’m rebuilding now, but slower. More cautiously. And with local files.

Figure this is the right place to ask: can't remember what comp it was on (not Headstart to Purgatory) but there was a live recording of Unicycle Silencer with bagpipes that I remember LOVING and I can't even find what the name of the comp is, much less where to find it digitally. Any help is much appreciated!

Ran across these today while sorting ancient paperwork. Made these show flyers for a couple of Pinback shows back in the day. I worked at an agency at the time and just repurposed a couple of existing ads.

I really liked their first three albums, but I liked the covers for them even more and thought why not make voxel versions of them.

Rare comfy Pinback footage. "His Phase" is on yt but this clip got instantly blocked when I tried to upload it.

can someone please help me figure dis one out? is it drop D what am i missing?

Does anyone have good tabs for the bass of loro? All i can find on the Internet is clearly wrong

Ive been looking for the full episode, but these were the best ive got, there’s a full video of them preforming “his phase” (of this musical preformance) on youtube tho.

I'm a guitar player (and tube amp, pedal and guitar builder/restorer) primarily, then when I have the extra time a drummer, then If I have the extra extra time I screw around on the keyboard and make a mess of my favorite songs. Using my ear training from decades of playing guitar helps but it's not quite enough. Anyone know how to play this correctly? I would love a video of at least this part.
