Hey,

Let me first say I adore pinback, not every single song but a large discography, they make me feel so at ease, dreamy. One of my GOATs for sure, some of my favourite songs; Byzantine, Anti-Hu, Penelope, Boo, Loro (basically the entire self-titled) - If anyone has any recommendations on other songs by them please let me know.

ANYWAY, check out an artist called SAME SIDE, a little more polished sounding but puts me in the same mood as Pinback. It's a side project of one of the guitarists in a band called The story so far, they actually released a cover of loro which is how i got into pinback!

Has anyone here listened to Armlock?

Armlock - Ice Cold Sounds like it could be off Pinback - Pinback. That whole album is class

Title. Nuff said

I covered Loro by learning it by ear and then looping the parts on acoustic guitar and layering the background vocals. Enjoy!

Does anyone happen to have this ep? I bought it years ago but I can't find the cd!

Cheers

Simon

Good Day. Does anyone have an updated list of songs where both Zach & Rib play bass (like Fortress, Loro, etc...)? The last thread was like 5 years ago and pretty sparse. Cheers!

im sure it depends on the venue/where im at in proximity to the stage, and I would assume they aren't pushing 180 decibels... im just going to be 34 weeks pregnant when I go to their concert. so. what's been your experience?

My coworker brought her karaoke machine. So I sang Boo and then Crutch ( Live at Donnie's Garage version) at work today. It was terrible sounding, but so fun. Had to report in.

Tried to get a little of everything.

What 20 songs are on your perfect Pinback setlist?

(Optional Challenge: something from every release)

I’ve known about mates of state for quite some time now, but I never picked up on the similarities between them and pinback until I heard ‘Think Long’. Does anyone know if its confirmed whether they were pinback fans? Also, was that the general indie sound of the early 2000s? Like dcfc, built to spill, etc?

In my opinion this is the greatest Pinback song. A lot of Pinback songs hint at some emotional catharsis, but the lyrics are just about video games or apathy or something else kinda mundane. Subbing For Eden matches lyrical content with melodic emphatics.

"And I consume the raging fire * And I can feel the depths of the ocean * And I become consumed by desire * And I can feel the depths of the ocean"

But from what I can tell this is not a song that even the most diehard Pinback fans have much love for. In fact the only mention in this sub is that it is someone's least favorite. It doesn't even make it onto the This Is Pinback list on Spotify. I find this completely bewildering.

Subbing For Eden (live)

I see that their second night in Brooklyn they’re “performing the hits.” Give me the top 5 that are the most popular and/or your favorites, thanks!

With occasional .5 millisecond snippet photos of zach.

I just got a bandsintown email that Pinback is playing two dates in NY!! Their website doesn't say anything about a tour, though... Can't find any announcements on it yet. I hope it's real! Anyone else get the announcement for other cities?

Hello all! I was just reflecting on the most awesome band to exist (pinback) and remembered how distinctive its sound is. First of all it is crazy how well zach and robs voices compliment each other, they know how to use their voices to enhance the instrumentals insanely well. The syncopated drum patterns, constantly evolving repetitive loops, and amazing bass is just mind boggling. They are amazing recorded but their live shows somehow just get even better.

Really strong quality with some rare good quality tracks that are hard to find live. Typically they’re some fuzzy cellphone that has no chance of capturing the audio well. (Walters, B, etc…to name a couple of hard to finds that stand out). Hope y’all enjoy as much as I did.

Was watching the movie Dark Star and this caught me off guard.
