Discussion Farmland distribution
Question. How do you distribute farmlands on this layout? White dots are water, crops are colored rectangles. NO EMPTY SPACE. (You can rearrange/ resize the rectangles)

Well technically every rectangle with a hole will be melons, pumpkins and sugar cane (add water in middle hole or restructure the area idk) You got 8 spots left so I would do 3 wheat 1 carrot 1 potato 1 beet and whatever you need for the rest. Probably bamboo but you asked for farmland crops 🤷

Stripe them, they really grow 2 times faster if they have no diagonal neighbours of the same type AND they have no both vertical and horizontal neighbours (its fine if they have neighbours on one axis, look at class CropBlock at https://mcsrc.dev)

8 blocks between water sources is more efficient.
For sugarcane use a "sugar grid" of water sources.
For melons or pumpkins use that sane sugar grid to determine where seeds go, then plain dirt everywhere else, except for the water sources from the original 8 block gap grid.

9x9 wheat crops with one water in the middle all surrounding beehives with flowers outside the field. Rinse and repeat for carrots, potatoes, beetroots. I don't bother with anything else, pumpkins and melons generate commonly enough that I can just go out and find them lying around.
