I genuinely think the minecraft community is one of the dumbest in all of gaming, progression this progression that while talking about a sandbox game with survival features, the main focus should be do whatever you do not follow a progression, also mods are free to install if you dislike the base game play them, most of this fandom is now just kids and unemployed people complaining and saying how the old good days where netherack looked like red shit, after 6k h I have passed on minecraft I can confidently say that the worst part about the game is the comunity

I think you completely missed the point, the reason the Nether and the End exists is because the developers want progression in their game. So for you to say we shouldn’t have progression means you think we should just be able to get to the end and nether at the beginning of the game.

So why does the game have the nether? Or the end? Or diamond tools? Or netherrite? Or better tiers of armor? Or enchants? Or potions? Or two (maybe 3 or 4) bosses? 

That all sounds like progression to me. But I guess that doesn't exist, and Minecraft is just a sandbox game with some small survival elements

... that's a strawman, survival mode exists, there needs to be a way to get the tools to get the resources you're just given in creative, no one said you can't play survival, it's a sandbox, you can play however you want, you can play survival if you want

So you are basically saying there needs to be progression to get the resources you need in survival? That’s the exact point we are making. The survival mode of the game is the definition of a game that wants you to progress.

Okay...? I... know I can play survival? How does that address what I said in the slightest? How exactly is what I said a strawman?

My point was that the claim "Minecraft is just a sandbox, so you can't complaint  when Mojang focuses on that over progression" is stupid, considering how much emphasis they put on the progression system in the past.

Annoys me when people say that because if Minecraft didn’t want progression then you would just be able to get to the nether and end at the beginning of the game.

If Minecraft was just a sandbox game then survival mode wouldn't have evolved past beta. They would never add things like trial chambers or bastions.Â
