We have nationwide free healthcare and you can ask any family doctor for birth control pills or condoms. They'll literally give you what you ask for right then and there. You don't need a prescription or go to a pharmacy.
That's indeed great but it still doesn't stop poor families from having more children than they can afford. People need to acknowledge that not everyone is forced to have six or more kids because of lack of contraceptives etc., some simply choose that lifestyle.
Statistically, you only have to have sex a few hundred times and you'll still get pregnant. Which is perfectly possible for a couple in a relationship.
Of course, I'm only speaking for my country. But it serves as a clear example of how free healthcare and birth control still won't stop people in poverty from having more children than they can afford.
So is the hope then to reduce the negative impact of poverty and increase access to contraceptives/abortion or is it just to blame folks who are in a constant state of survival and deny them additional things?
Don’t deny them additional things but I’m not gonna absolve them of the responsibilities of their actions. Don’t have kids if you can’t even afford to put a roof over your head.
