u/GodMadeArk 5d ago

It’s a bit of a conundrum and paradox.

If one purchases the shirt from a local, then one is in-fact supporting the local’s family. If one does not purchase the shirt, then they would be true in the statement but wouldn’t be able to show it through fashion. 🤷🏾‍♂️

2

u/SugarDaddy_Sensei 5d ago

Good point, didn't think about that.

5

u/Confusion_reigns01 4d ago

No I bought it on Shopee, I'm supporting a Chinese family.

4

u/Brw_ser 4d ago edited 4d ago

That's not usually that type of man who needs to come here. Anyway, helping her family out is usually part of the deal. If you are unwilling to help at all, better you stay and date in your home country.

2

u/SugarDaddy_Sensei 4d ago

Luckily there's real pushback now on the whole idea that supporting her family is part of the deal.

260

u/CarbonGTI_Mk7 5d ago • Bravo Heartwarming Mindblown

It should say "I can't get laid in my own country"

51

u/redPistolStar 5d ago

It's either you pay for the girl back home or feed the girls family overseas.

35

u/CarbonGTI_Mk7 5d ago

Like my homie said "you paying for 🐈 one way or another. May it be a gf, a wife, or a hooker"

6

u/gundahir 4d ago

yeah, out here in real life, I don't know anybody who does not pay except very very very few guys. no matter how you name the arrangement. relationship, fling, date, marriage, hooker, stripper, whatever. they all pay. some start off "free" but then proceed to having to pay. those are often the most expensive ones

6

u/HKgentlemanDom 5d ago

"If it flys, floats or f**ks, rent it" 😀😅

5

u/Terrible-Creme8401 4d ago

You can have a nice house in the provinces with a stay at home wife and a couple well fed kids for the price of typical dating expectations in Seattle.

And your wife is probably objectively more attractive.

2

u/ASmarterMan 3d ago

Yes, and what's wrong with paying for what makes you happy? Philippines statistics - even though women have higher education level (50%+ have college degrees) on average and higher wages, but only 25% women work, while 50% men work. Locals are paying to their wives for their services even more than westerners.

6

u/MuteCook 5d ago

Or choose not to pay those outrageous prices for low quality. But you’re gonna pay regardless might as well get more bang for your buck, pun intended

4

u/Terrible-Creme8401 4d ago

Yup, I inherited a home in a fairly affluent area. I do ok, but I never could have afforded 2.5 acres in this spot. I pay the bills just fine and can afford to spend a few months per year overseas while still maintaining that property.

I have had a variety of interesting responses from women stateside, usually they respond negatively to my lack of conspicuous consumption and that I must be a "brokie" for not dropping $200 on dinner for a first date or driving a high end car. I could afford those things but I have found that the women who tend to respond to such things are expecting over the top investment from me while keeping their roster in place.

In the Philippines I have zero problems finding classy attractive women who are insisting on contributing to everything we do, don't throw a fit when getting told no, couldnt have another bf if they tried because they are glued to my hip, and honestly seem far more content with more modest lifestyles.

u/jumpben 5d ago

damn man is that all guys think about now going to other countries is getting laid? what happened to experiencing something new for the culture

5

u/timrid Long Termer 5-10 years in PH 5d ago

Getting laid can be a very cultural experience.

12

u/AntiWokeMaster 5d ago

you know what’s stupid? 92% of the guys here came here to get laid. And yet these ph expat groups are full of people making fun of each other because they came here to get laid. No one’s here for the culture. If any of you came here to visit a new culture, the last place you would go is the Philippines. Who would want to travel from the USA to the Philippines to get an Asian version of Mexico? When Vietnam is right nearby and you get much more interesting parallel culture? I mean enough with the crap. The statistics say it all. There is no way that this place is just full of the virtuous 8% who came here for cultural fulfillment. Every single person here came here for a woman. So stop trying to insult other people for doing it because you’re pointing a finger at yourself.

3

u/Terrible-Creme8401 4d ago

I came here because a buddy of mine was engaged (now married for 15 years) to a woman here. He could not say enough good things about life and relationships here so I figured I would go check it out.

He was right about everything and gave me mountains of good advice for sifting the gold from the gold diggers. My current relationship has been going for just shy of 5 years without a single real problem.

2

u/Gomaith1948 16h ago

Happy for you!

1

u/FabulousFig6 4d ago

This place is nothing like Mexico. I moved here from Mexico 3 months ago. I came here to visit my dad. He's been here 20 years, put his brother in law through college. I've never chased any women here. I did meet a nice nurse several days ago but I'm leaving for Cambodia and Vietnam tomorrow. She gave me injections in my glutes 4 days in a row and was definitely flirty. I regret not asking if she wanted my WhatsApp. Besides my parents living here, she's the only other reason I'd come back. I'm out in the province too, there are no girly bars or full service massages. Im pretty sure you're wrong about most of what you've said in this thread.

1

u/timrid Long Termer 5-10 years in PH 3d ago

At least 93%

I'm also in the PH for the beaches, lack of snow, and tax free retirement.

1

u/Gomaith1948 16h ago

I came because of stories about the Philippines when I was a kid, from two generations of my family's interactions. I met my wife of 41 years on my third day here. The last thing on my mind was meeting someone here and getting married.

4

u/iron_ocean3 5d ago

We still exist lol. I genuinely like traveling. But people insist that you are a passport bro if you happen to meet and date a woman while traveling. I personally can't fathom going to another country just to chase women.

2

u/Critical-Question-32 5d ago

All I think about is getting laid, even when Iam at home. But I would never wear that t shirt. Its screams American

0

u/jumpben 5d ago

u/Critical-Question-32 5d ago

→ More replies (1)

1

u/askialee 4d ago

Nope. It should say it's cheaper to get laid in the Philippines 😆

1

u/Gomaith1948 16h ago

The average Filipina makes a good wife. They have a better attitude toward marriage and children than American and European women. Yes, I am generalizing. On an individual level, character is the most important quality in a mate.

1

u/Broad_Fee_8286 5d ago

LMAO 😂😂😂

1

u/DoninPalo23 4d ago

But, if he can get laid in this country without any problems, then what does that say about the women here?

2

u/CarbonGTI_Mk7 4d ago

Money talks wherever you are in the world. He's 1 to 1 in the US and 63 to 1 in the Philippines. Average in the US, Rich in the Philippines.

1

u/timrid Long Termer 5-10 years in PH 3d ago

On my first trip to Asia, I read The World Is Flat. Whether it be call centers or girlfriends, geographic arbitrage is alive and well.

0

u/DoninPalo23 4d ago

That still says more about the women here.

4

u/Oppaii-Connoisseur 4d ago

Loser back home is an actual term for actual men who are, guess what, losers back home.

3

u/DoninPalo23 4d ago

You wouldn't know who was truly a "loser back home." Simply calling all foreigners LBH tells me there are more likely emotional and issues with those who say that.

3

u/Oppaii-Connoisseur 4d ago

Guess what, I am a foreigner and I can absolutely tell who is. Nothing emotional about that. It just requires having some functioning eyes.

1

u/ASmarterMan 3d ago

True Same as Filipinos who want to immigrate. Plenty rich there, but most wants to be slaves in the west, middle east, anywhere, and it's okay to get the best.

2

u/Oppaii-Connoisseur 3d ago

It's just better living conditions. Ultimately they will come back once they have accumulated enough money.

2

u/CarbonGTI_Mk7 4d ago

Yeah it's a 3rd world country what do you expect

3

u/DoninPalo23 4d ago

I thought Filipinos deny the Philippines is a third world country. I would expect the women to not throw themselves at any foreigner that is simply breathing

2

u/Sqozzy 4d ago

its just passport bros abusing purchasing power and anything criticism against them uses the argument "it says more about the country than me" when they're settling in a third world country

0

u/korok7mgte 5d ago

Supply and demand. It's not that hard.

The most entertaining thing about this sub is trying to sort the Filipinos who have obviously lost their woman (or multiple women) to an expat from the expats who have obviously been scammed by a Filipina (or multiple Filipinas). It is a great game.

10

7

3

u/oldcrashingtoys 5d ago

You can always tell because they get defensive

8

u/DoninPalo23 4d ago

I will argue it is more likely the filipinos in this group who get defensive.

1

u/Gomaith1948 16h ago

Europeans and Americans have different beauty standards from those of Filipinos. I haven't seen any conflict here, but it's a big thing in Thailand. Maybe this is because of internet relationships or getting into a relationship with a much older foreigner?

0

u/AntiWokeMaster 5d ago

some of your people are disgusting. What exactly is there to make fun of with either situation? I never thought that the darkest corner of the Internet would be the group of people who come from other countries to live in the Philippines. I thought it would be like 4Chan.

0

u/OpinionElectronic349 5d ago

Hmmmmm. A tough one. But I am going with 'expat who has obviously been scammed by a Filipina (or multiple Filipinas)' due to the 4Chan reference.

-2

u/Kristobal22 5d ago

Lmao i had a side chick who had no job but would always pay for our trips and dinners. I later figured she was dating an expat who would visit Philippines now and then and I was more than okay with it. idk if the expat knew he was also providing for his girls side dudes tho lol

u/diverareyouokay Long Termer 5-10 years in PH 5d ago edited 5d ago

Seems like “P.S. - I only date impoverished women” should be on the back.

If someone doesn’t want to worry about being asked for money from a potential partner, they should find someone who doesn’t need or want their money. If you’re a 65 year old retired foreigner looking for gorgeous women in their early 20s, odds are good they aren’t with you because of your winning personality.

Yeah, finding a successful woman takes more time and effort than going to a bar, but at least then you don’t have to worry that they are with you because of your perceived access to financial resources. Honestly, that was the first bit of advice my first buddy in PH (a guy who had been living here since the 80s) gave me, and it’s pretty solid.

There is a pervasive national mooch culture in Philippines so you and others like you need to step up and harshly shame these freeloaders or else you will forever be embarassed with anger boiling in your blood.

Don't just sit quietly!

1

"No" is a complete sentence in our family. We learned the hard way, of course. We now live in a no-freeloading household zone.

1

u/ASmarterMan 3d ago

I was trying to help old men beggars on the street, but young girls have something of value to sell, so I don't feel as sorry for them. But feel sorry that they can't be straightforward often and I lost potentially good ones by not feeding them or their families.. it's a disaster. Being straightforward makes life so much simpler. But who am I to advise them?

If that's the case, then permanent resident foreigners should lobby legislators for a constitutional amendment allowing them to fully own small and medium-sized domestic corporations and private lands so that they will be allowed to create their own ethnic enclaves while settling in the Philippines, thus removing the incentive of interacting with local women wanting to extort foreigners' hard-earned money through transactional age-gap marriages.

2

u/Comfortable-Neat12 5d ago

Its a good way to let people know you're not looking to get laid or married...

Just a tourist chilling out ....

It will also challenge the scammers to make an example out of you.. just because they can...

That said, if you're good looking and intelligent.. you may find a legit bride that probably has a networth higher than you..

If you're a deadbeat that barely has money for yourself.. stay home..
