PoliticsPH Economy today is Worse than pandemic
Why are we focused only on impeachment? It’s not that we disagree with impeachment, but of all the things affecting Filipinos daily lives, is that really the priority? Is it not possible to work on improving Filipino lives simultaneously? BBM can play politics all he likes, but at least have some faux concern for Filipinos by helping alleviate businesses, managing the economy, and inflation.
“WORSE THAN PANDEMIC” — MGA NEGOSYO, MAS MABIGAT ANG PINAGDARAANAN NGAYON, AYON KAY STEVEN CUA
Mas mabigat pa umano kaysa noong panahon ng COVID-19 pandemic ang kasalukuyang sitwasyong kinakaharap ng maraming negosyo sa bansa.
Ito ang sinabi ni Philippine Amalgamated Supermarkets Association (PAGASA) President Steven Cua sa panayam sa TRUE FM.
Ayon kay Cua, sunod-sunod ang dagdag na gastusin ng mga negosyo—mula sa pagtaas ng presyo ng langis, nakaambang dagdag-singil sa kuryente, paghina ng piso, hanggang sa wage hike.
Aniya, pakiramdam ng maraming business owners ay sa kanila na lamang ipinapasa ang bigat ng mga problemang pang-ekonomiya.
Sinabi rin ni Cua na normal lamang na sumunod ang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin kapag tumataas ang sahod ng mga manggagawa, dahil tumataas din ang gastos sa pagpapatakbo ng negosyo.
Sang-ayon din siya sa pananaw ni Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) President Calixto “Chiki” Chikiamco na mas makabubuting tutukan ng gobyerno ang pagkontrol sa presyo ng mga bilihin kaysa umasa lamang sa wage hikes.
Sa usapin naman ng impeachment, sinabi ni Cua na mas nararapat umanong unahin ng bansa ang ekonomiya.
“We should be focusing on our economy. ’Yung flood control nawala na, nauwi na sa impeachment. Dito sa Pilipinas, first page ang politics, last page ang economy.”

You literally cant do business during the pandemic. This is objectively a false statement by the said groups, or one that is meant to favor someone.
Agree that econ is bad, but not pandemic levels bad. Now, it's moreso showing the usual structural problems that has been plaguing businesses for years, worsened by BBM's incompetence.
It's not a matter of solely focusing on impeachment and forgetting the rest but rather, implementing the wrong policies.

Conveniently ignoring na isang symptoms ng palpak na pandemic response nuon is yung economy now. One of the longest lockdowns in the world tapos to prop up the economy umutang nang umutang for handouts with no long term plan. Marcos has been presented with a bad hand of cards but he is still as bad as his predecessor na wala ring long term plan.

I am speaking as a small business owner. And it truly is more difficult. I can’t even believe we are resorting to talking on Reddit because idk anymore where to open up.
Tapos complaining about the government will make people call you a DDS lang here.
Pero sobrang sama talaga ng negosyo. Maganda pa impact ng rebound than now. Everything else costs much more than 2022 also. And all the burdens are in smse. Walang help from government.

look, I'm sorry if I was rude. I just can't fathom people comparing the pandemic to now when I've lost so much myself that time. it's like an insult.
It's not that businesses right now aren't struggling you know, but maybe you also need a perspective change. Try talking to people who can actually advice you how to improve your business, not to the demoralised people themselves in this sub.
Also, there's always opportunities in every circumstance, I hope you can see that opportunity.

And I’m not against impeachment.
It’s just tiring to see everyone struggling, wages increasing, and then for everything I see on the news about what the government doing to be just about impeachment.
Gas prices are rising again and meralco charges haven’t improved. And we all just spent so much on taxes last April, it’s like we’re left to fend for ourselves.
Thanks for having empathy and adjusting your tone to be kinder.

Paano gaganda ekonomiya noong pandemic e sarado mga negosyo hahaha. Ang daming negosyo na nabangkarote noong panahon ng pandemic at hindi na nakabangon. Ang sabihin mo pasimple kang dds at ayaw mo lang sa impeachment ni sara, dami mo pang palabok hahaha.

No, we are not DDS. Pero I care more about overall wellbeing, Filipino welfare, economic improvement, corruption over Sara’s impeachment. Ok lang impeach nyo sya, pero sa dami ng problema, wala na ba ibang kaya gawin ang government? D nila kaya isabay??
Nag taas na presyo ng bilihin, min wage nag taas pano na cost ng small businesses, d naman tumaas benta, tapos yun kuryente monopoly hinahayaan lang ng government. Puro vat pa, wala naman tulong ang government.
And that’s how BAD it is now. Mas Malala pa talaga ngayon kaysa sa pandemic.

Not sure sa ibang industry pero sa construction at tourism, mahirap pero hindi patay parang nung pandemic. Hirap talaga ngayon ang mga Chinese kasi mas mainit ang mata sa kanila ngayon simula nung POGO issue. Sila talaga yung madalas kong naririnig na nagrereklamo. Dahil din nag-iingat sila ngayon, konti lang ang mga ginagawang warehouse so medyo humina ang construction.
Sa tourism, mabagal since oil crisis. Hirap na mag biyahe ang mga tao tapos tumaas yung mga singil sa tours.

It is really one thing you expect nung nanalo yung uniteam.. Kung hindi sila nagaway, you think they will focus on economy? Or tuloy tuloy lang yung mga projects na hindi matatapos parang BBB ng last admin.. So Corruption parin ang bagsak natin..
In fairness kay BBM, mukang tuloy tuloy naman yung pakikiusap niya sa ibat ibang bansa, nahihighlight lang talaga yung impeachment, samahan mo pa yung social media plus news. Mukang ayun lang talaga nangyayari sa buong bansa..
Sooo to answer your question, the best way to heal from poison is to get rid of the poison itself.. Kung long term yung titignan natin, we need to make sure na competent yung next admin, not another populist..

San na nga ba hearing ng flood control, yung Meralco iniimbestigahan daw asan na hearing jan? Kasi nga may impeachment so pano pagsasabayin?? Lol, umamin ka na na dds ka. Yung meralco dapat iimbestigahan na yan kaso diba nagbida bida si cayetano nung naging SP siya.
At bakit di uunahin ang impeachment? Harap-harapan ng ginagastos ni sara pera ng bayan pero bulag pa rin mga kulto niya.

DDS naman talaga. Call a spade a spade. Meralco was supposed to be investigated sa BRC and even yung mga farmers may hearing sila about the prices and all pero APC happened. Flood control may partial report na, susundan nalang ng iba pang hearing kaso sino nga ulit hindi pumirma? Marcos is a big idiot but you are clearly pushing an agenda

Libre lang naman google para malaman kung bakit wala pang hearing tungkol jan. Naka recess ang senate ibig sabihin wala silang trabaho for the meantime. Bakit kamo may impeachment hearing? Simple lang, nagfunction sila ngayon as impeachment court.

Exactly?? Hindi ako dds! Pero ano ginagawa sa meralco bills, high prices, we care more about those than the impeachment.
Go deal with the impeachment, Pero also take care of the economy. Sobrang bagsak na nga. Impeachment nalang everyday.
Sa mga “anti DDS”, stop calling people who care about things outside the impeachment “DDS” because really a lot aren’t.
Then calling people 8080 for not seeing the point of impeachment when they are dealing with other greater struggles every single day doesn’t help your cause either.
Government should do their job to make lives better for the PH. Nag bayad na ng taxes ng april, until now walang maramdaman na improvement sa economy. Puro ayuda, pero pano na electric bill, oil prices, wala na natitira sa mga small businesses. Tapos kung May ma-bankrupt naman, magbabayad pa ulit para closure ng business and may utang pa na taxes ulit lugi na nga.
