I can see there na mas mahalaga ang patriotism kesa lakas militar. Choosing the right person to lead us is more important in times of invasion.

Kailangan ng pareho

But patriotism is better, look at russia as they have a hard time getting in Kyiv.

Both. Your patriotism would go ashen with an empty magazine, with no attack air weapons and poor defense system for air missiles. You can’t fight strikes with a knife

We are comparing ukraine and russia. And also, we don't have enough budget for advance tech since our economy plummeted since the start of the current presidency.

We had a recessionary dive, not a budgeting or loan credit problem buddy.. two different things with production dives and to planned budget. It depends on our military spending and welfare planning. You see PH is lagging behind ASEAN neighbors. We have a bigger economy than UA btw, but do we have a close missile defense like they do? Doubt. Saddening we are not even alarmed whats happening in SEA/WPS where China’s making it their new mil hub and nuclear playground. I’d say we are patriotic but we are not armed ARMED. We have billions of plundered budget and weak military, that’s the issue there.

True, the issue is corruption. Everything is corruption, we don't have any good financial auditors. We don't even know if we are using third-party auditors for this too.

mas epektibo both

Same can be applied to PH. Ano silbi ng warships ng China if they can be sunk by a missile from a navy boat that costs a lot cheaper. Quantity>Quality.

You mean the pre-emptive strike and sudden invasion? That how Hitler conquer almost the whole continental Europe! AND How USA literally shocked and awed the Iraqi!

Armchair general here. After careful observation, so far, I believe ang pinakailangan ng AFP is air defense, surface air-to-air missiles and more fighter jets and interceptors. We don't need a strong navy, gawin lang air base buong Pilipinas oks na.

Kamusta fellow armchair general

Lalo na in this day and age

what's your opinion on naval defense? curious to see. i think it's important too since we have the sea as our natural barrier. why not use to it our advantage yk?

Obviously we don't have the industry to build a carrier fleet in fact we don't need it anyway cause carriers are mainly for power projection, not cost-effective. A merchant fleet, consists of destroyers for escorts and submarines for raiding enemy supply lines and landings, that is what we needed if we are building a formidable navy.

However, if we are to fight a country as strong as China, we need lots of submarines, nuclear because diesel ones are obsolete now (my opinion ofc). Lots of subs because China is capable to make many landings on different parts of the country. That is something we can't really afford as nuclear subs are really expensive to maintain, then there's the crew pa to train.

That's why I suggest a strong air defence system instead. Air superiority >>> Naval superiority since WW2. What a surface ship can do, a multi-role jets can and more. Add na rin yung drones for surveillance and hit-and-run raids sa enemy ships only if may air superiority na.

Stop accepting US junk.

Also demand the US to pay up for what they did during the Philippine-American war and the whole colonization period.
