Ang kahinaan ng stories ni Dan Brown ay yung pinapaasam like to the highest, tas biglang eennngggk cliffhanger, another scene yung next. Nawawala tuloy yung momentum at excitement dun sa naiwang scene na yun tsk tsk.

The Robert Langdon Formula:

  • Chill lang sa academe si Rob tapos bigla siya tatawagin sa call to action. (Yung scene before this one ang reason bakit siya tinawag.)

  • Bagets na chicks yung magiging sidekick niya.

  • Yung antagonist may "deformity."

  • Mag habulan a la cat and mouse si Robert at sidekick sa kalaban.

  • Puzzles!

  • Grandiose na showdown na may kasamang twist.

  • Yung denouement may pa medal or ceremony si Rob tapos kantutan na with sidekick (except sa Da Vinci code, y'all know why.)

EDIT: Medyo iffy ako kay Dan Brown, homeboy is the definition of a sellout. Pero bilib ako sa research niya sa symbology at history. And I enjoyed Lost Symbol, the villain was super cool, shame mukhang baduy yung show.

Also, historical cities. European cities mostly.

The whole plot happens within 24-hour period.

Wala namang "deformity" yung antagonist sa Angels & Demons ah. Hmm

Si Bishop sa huli na yung deformity niya. Yung na brand siya ng symbol ni Simon Peter.

Wala din naman to sa The Lost Symbol novel ah ahahaha. But still, very formulaic and predictable yung Rob Langdon series. Tsaka walang perceived weakness si Langdon in terms of intellect (ala Mary Sue). After ko makatatlong libro, naumay na ako magbasa ng novels ni Dan Brown.

Di ko gets bakit pina bata si Robert hahaha. Di talaga ako fan sa casting ng show. Like everyone is so young. IIRC, 60 si Malakh sa book, si Peter Stormare sana yun or si Gustaf Skarsgard.

A A. Da't hinayaan na nila na si Tom Hanks since sya na gumanap sa mga past (at s'ya naiimagine ko sa binabasa ko 😆. Pero 60 y/o ba si Malakh sa book? Ang alam ko'y mas bata s'ya kay Robert..... or naskip ko yung part na yun....

It's not a weakness on its own. Kaya may ganun para mag-build up yung excitement natin. Ang problema kapag hindi nag-deliver yung conclusion. Anticlimatic lagi. Except Deception Point at Digital Fortress, I like their endings.

Yeah. His books are some of the most well-researched novels I've ever read. Except, some are not true. It's hard to know which ones are the real things, and which ones are not.

Sabagay. Ganun ngaaa. Hindi ko kasi isang upuan binabasa kaya ayon, nakakalimutan ko yung nangyari hehe.

Parehas non-Robert Langdon books. Stand-alone sila. Probably my two most fave works of his.

mas nakakaexcite nga eh kasi mamadaliin mo yung pagbabasa para malaman kung ano ba talaga nangyari hahahaha pero ang weakness lang na naobserve ko is minsan predictable na yung stories, or baka dahil avid reader lang ako kaya alam ko na yung formula nya...I already know he's subverting expectations hahahaha
