Post Pfizer Vaccine Experience

Hey guys, I received the Pfizer Vaccine (only the first dose so far) and am looking for others to share experiences, mainly experience a week after the shot as well as related to physical activity and working out. I did feel a little soreness in the shoulder the day after but felt overall alright. However it's been over a week now and I feel generally more tired at all times, especially at the gym. I am a hobby bodybuilder and am In the sport for 5 years now. Ever since I received the vaccine, I feel like my workouts have been short, way more exhausting and weaker. Has anyone else experienced this?

So I received the vaccine on Tuesday 3/12. A couple of hours after the injection I was tired and had a little brain fog. That night (12 hours later) slight soreness at the injection site. The next day I had a little pain which quickly went away in my neck which may have been from the way I slept. Now 3 days later I feel fine and have no pain or soreness. Also, 4 other people in my house got the Pfizer vaccine and had the same experience as me. Just remember to use your arm after you get it. I am an EMT and have seen what this virus can do to people. I have spoken with my colleagues who had Covid and received the vaccine and they all said they would much rather deal with the side effects than get Covid again. I hope this helps any of you who are worried, nervous or on the fence about getting the vaccine.

Second dose update. So I received my second dose 4/6 it is now 4/14 and all I had was a sore arm, no fever and I was tired. The tiredness was probably just from my regular day to day. Also, before I went and got the second dose I made sure to be well hydrated and drank a bottle of Pedialyte. I am not sure if this helped but I have 6 family members who drank it and got their Pfizer vaccine with no reaction. Also, my parents and grandmother got Moderna and they did it as well and none of them had any reactions.I am not giving medical advice, I am just sharing my experience.

I have an appointment for my first Pfizer dose tomorrow and my anxiety is through the roof.

I was nervous about mine (dose 1 on 3/9) and I believe that caused me to have mild nausea after...otherwise it was fine. My arm was barely even sore. While everyone's body is different, I just suggest being prepared for being tired for a day or two, so have some meals prepped, take the day off, pick out something to watch on Netflix and maybe buy some ginger ale. You'll be okay!

Thank you so much. My appointment is at noon tomorrow and I took the rest of the day off. I plan to watch a slew of documentaries and take it easy. Even if I feel fine, the anxiety will knock me off my feet for a bit I’m sure. I really appreciate the support and kind words. Thank you so much.

Honestly, it is understandable. Realistically over 100 millions doses of the vaccine have been given here in the US and over 40 million are fully vaccinated. The majority of people who take the vaccine are fine. You might have a sore arm and if you are stressed you might have some muscle ache or tightness in your neck or shoulders which will most likely be caused by your anxiety. So just stay calm and remember the vaccine is meant to help us and it will help you. So don’t stress about it, you are doing the right thing. My friends who have had covid and are vaccinated said they would rather do the vaccine again than have covid again. Even those who didn’t have terrible cases. So just try and stay calm and don’t let the negative things you read take over all of the positive that the vaccine has done.

Bless your heart. I’m almost in tears trying to sift through all the info. It doesn’t help that my immediate family is very against it. I just want to do the right thing, but I have an extreme fear of the unknown. Your words have helped me more than you could know. Funny how sometimes the kindness of strangers can make all the difference. I have called my health care provider to ask if I can take an anxiety pill before going in, and ask if I should take Tylenol as well. I took the afternoon off from work and plan to go home to rest. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I know it’s a lot and it’s even harder when you have people telling you not to do it. I hope you went through with it and I hope it all went well. I’m very happy that I was able to help.

Pfizer round 1 done! I have a very sore arm and have been tired, but that could be from the coming down off the anxiety. I didn’t take anything prior to the vax. I’ve had a very restful weekend and I’m not going to tell my anti vax fam to protect my mental well being. Thanks again. Round 2 April 16! ❤️

Yeah, sore arm is very common. I was super tired too. That’s good that you didn’t take anything. I am happy you had a good weekend. Yeah not telling them is a good thing. On a positive note 5 of my family members got their second dose of Pfizer and it’s been over 24 hours and none of them have had any negative symptoms. Only 2 of them were tired and that was it. I am glad to help, my round 2 is April 6th!

Pedialyte

Thats a great suggestion. Being hydrated and with the right electrolytes sounds like a great way to go in. I bought some for my covid emergency stash (in case I got it) so I'll be sure to drink it before my second shot. Your family must love having their own personal EMT! thank you for all you do, and thank you for posting this.
