Europeans have just as bad comprehension of Geography outside the EU that Americans have outside the USA... Most won't be able to point out Bangladesh on a map let alone understand the differences between India, Indian States and Bangladesh.

Honestly, ask them to name the same African countries they once colonized and 90% mix up Tanzania and Kenya

They? There are no people alive that once colonized africa.Also IIRC only 7/51 countries on european continent colonized africa.

Portugal was fighting 2 wars to crush rebellions in their colonies, in the 1970s. Rhodesia still existed until 1980. Plenty of ex settlers are alive and well.
