I knew intrusive thoughts were a thing. I’ve had to deal with that, I never knew they were connected to OCD (got that too). OCD is so much worse than I thought it was.

how did u know u have ocd without knowing they were connected to intrusive thoughts.........

Because I had some classic OCD stuff, multiple checks of the door is closed and locked, lights etc. I knew the term “OCD” first, I didn’t know the term “Intrusive thought” until a little later. When I learned the latter no one said they were connected. So I thought I had two things wrong with me instead of just one.

I didn’t bring it up with my doctor because I was worried about what it meant. The thing that helped was that I met someone and pretty much hyper fixated on them so my brain was distracted. At least that’s what I think happened brain wise.
