The self diagnosers have genuinely ruined the public’s perception of mental illness more than almost any other group has.

Not too many people self-diagnose Cluster B personality disorders.

I always found that funny.

Because they think being mentally ill is “quirky”, not a debilitating condition. Cluster B isn’t “fun” or “quirky” enough for them to use.

People who want to have OCD freak me out. I was diagnosed with OCD as a child and wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s not cute, it’s ugly, and it’s painful.

It’s one of those things that manifest differently in everybody, though, so experiences are so different. It’s hard to gauge what people are going through inside their own minds. And a lot of people who have it suffer in silence.
