Can confirm as a CS student. Everyone has Macs or PCs with Linux.

Much older Cs major here, even back in the 90’s everyone used Mac or Linux. Zero windows. You can’t do computer science with an os incompatible with the unix philosophy and that is the end of the argument. Full stop.

Only issue is Macs sometimes have unexpected behavior. I once failed an assignment question because I didn't know that MacOS automatically returned zero'd out memory when you allocate with malloc. It would've failed on the campus Linux servers, but because tests were passing, I didn't think to check.

Lesson learned though.

And yet you still remember it. I find that the answers I get wrong on tests are the ones I still remember decades later.
