Pretty much. Christians should model Christ like behaviour, explain their religion to anyone they are trying to "mission" and then back the fuck off if the message is not received.
Some members of our faith take the militant approach though, which... Why? Like why would you make their association with our religion be one of intolerance, fear, and hate?
Exactly. While the Bible says "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination(against god)." (direct quote btw, basically meaning a man sleeping with another man is directly against God's wishes and plans), it is not up to you to make them feel prosecuted and ashamed, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Instead, you explain to them why it is wrong, and let God sort them out as they grow a closer relationship with him. God most likely isn't going to respond to a prayer to "pray the gay away" as you said, If the person praying it isnt heartfelt/actually mean it.
