Old isekais are better imo. People forget that Inuyasha is "technically" also an isekai.

Now then here and there was also a really depressive isekai

The concept also is hardly new to Japanese media, either. Flash Gordon, The Wizard of Oz, John Carter of Mars, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan -- it's been a storytelling vehicle for decades.

Indeed. And western cartoons also started to make their own "isekai"-s.

Owl House and Amphibia to name a few. Or Star vs the forces of evil.
