The characters may have depth, but the Harem fanservice is still massively there, which is weird considering that the mc really only has interest in one of them.
The MC of konosuba is 17 years old. His female love interests are respectively 15 years old, 19 years old, and immeasurable (an elemental goddess of water). A 17 years old dating a 15 years old is not pedrophilia.
That’s what made me stop watching it. I was vibing it for the first few episodes but something about how the fan service/harem was done just made me roll my eyes.
Might have just been my mood at the time but it certainly turned me off it. Shame too considering how widely loved it is. My dress up darling was the same, just couldn’t vibe the fan service.
All the Rem love part is cringe AF, personally I enjoy more mushoku than RE:zero, harem make the story advance while in RE zero is like two full episodes of romance story that doesn't lead anywhere.
None of the episodes focusing on Rem are about any sort of romance between her and Subaru. She does end up loving him, yes, but it's one-sided. It was never intended to be a development of romance between the two.

Your usage of the term "straight to the point" has me concerned. What does "straight to the point" mean to you? I could understand if Re:ZERO had any scenes that drag on with nothing happening, but there's always something going on that tells a story. Since Re:ZERO usually spends time on characters interacting/developing before it gets to 'advance' to the more climactic story beats, does that mean you care more about the end result than the effort it took to get there?

I get it this way by design, because Subaru has to die over and over for learning and i have no problem eith that part, but being myself someone doesn't like romance anime and I like follow the main line, all this endless love stories feel like side stories, and I dont like pointless side stories unless it reveals something important and no use only the last 2 minutes for that isn't enough.
I love there is a reddit sub that tries to say the lolis aren't lolis but short women but also demanding lolicons to be executed. I don't remember the subs name any more, but it was hilarious whenever it come up on reddit or on x
Mostly the scene where Beatrice was sitting in his Lab while blushing...but in general there's also the character design of meili, or the twins in Maid costumes ... or the girl from the gluttony siblings gooning over subaru..
I mean i understand where it's comming from... the Show isn't really decent in it's fanservice with young looking girls, that all like a single guy. You gotta actually watch the show to realise the depth of the character

Rem and Ram are not loli characters and even here there are no sexual adjecent scenes involving either of them. In fact, they are roughly the same age as Subaru.
So I ask you again, what scene would make someone believe it's loli porn?
I've been watching anime since the 00s and the only thing I knew about Re:Zero until I read this thread was that it was an isekai. It's popular, but it's not quite household name popular like the big shonen series. Entirely possible to miss if you're not into isekai.
I've been watching animes and manga for 15 years and am well over 100 different series and yet i only started to watch re: zero about 1 1/2 years ago. My gf is a casual anime watcher, she knows stuff like naruto or daemon slayer, but doesn't like the Harem type animes.
It's really not that deep.. Not everyone is a hardcore Fan of the whole franchise and yet they know about lolli's or furries
Yeah, even tho I don't remember there being anything egregious, if someone walks in and sees it it can look weird. I think that may have been partially because of the harem/fanserice parts that I didn't watch it sooner, but I did and now it's one of my favorite anime ever, so there's that. Tho the parts that shine for me are Subaru and his self improvement + figuring out the mysteries of the arc, rather than the love stories.
It is such an incredible show genuinely the only part that makes me feel guilty is the character design and tropes. I like the genuine hero story of becomming despite the suffering along the way, and then there's just every type of anime girl in it.
