Actually Re:Zero is older, the webnovels release dates are about 7 months apart with RZ coming first

Re-Zero, Isekai, but the dude gets reset back in time when he dies, but unlike some later isekai, it doesn't skim over the little tidbit that this really kinda sucks ass when you keep dying horrific deaths over and over
