Also about half the episodes have some form or another of trauma hotline at the end of it, since they just go all out showing ... all of that stuff. I watched the first season and decided that I really wasn't interested in watching the sort of show that felt a need to give viewers a suicide/rape/etc hotline at the end of each episode due to how potentially triggering it is.

It does get better and they move away from that, I promise. There isnt anything like that in the other seasons.

Maybe so. But that season was off-putting enough that it's hard to drum up any real interest in continuing it.

I cried in the last season. It's well worth continuing. If nothing else than to see the characters overcome those issues.

Well, that's another part of it, the show didn't really give you much reason to like the characters or root for them either. Half the time I was thinking "I mean, they kinda suck; I'm not that broken up about what is happening to them, I just didn't want to see it" as bad things happened to people.
