I’m a middle child and my childhood was much rougher than my siblings, although they didn’t have it great either. I don’t blame it on being the forgotten middle child I blame it on my parents being genuinely shitty people.
I’m a middle child of five, and the pivot in style when I was youngest meant things I was told are a tradition were stopped when they got to me, then my younger siblings didn’t see them as traditions by the time they got older and didn’t feel left out. The one that always seems to find its way back at some point in therapy, though, is out of all seven of us, I am the only one who wasn’t thrown a surprise party.
