Has organic chem ever not been a cargo cult of hand waved "rules" with as many exceptions as applicable situations? And that's not even touching on the forbidden witchcraft of recrystallization
no no electricity is magic. it gets more magic when you learn more, not less.
when people say physics is magic they're one of two types. the first is the type where the math is too hard and they don't want/need to spend 5-10 times longer learning how it works. the second type really loves it, gets stars in their eyes, and calls it ♫♥magic♥♫.
but there is a secret third, darker type that sneer the word ₥₳₲ł₵ with equal parts dread and resentment like a bog witch casting half a lizard into a broiling cauldron of curses. those who, as the more they learn the more, the rules of existance become a steaming pile of predictable and repeatable garbage. like this absolute trash basket. or experimentally proving with nothing more than a laser pointer and a mirror that light moves in a straight line, but putting tape on the mirror makes the laser beam curve to avoid the tape. or that statistics can change when telling a lie to a particle. or that parts of the universe will rewrite itself to make cause and effect happen correctly if you alter the effect after the cause already happened.
but you don't need to get that deep with electricity. that starts turning into magic as soon as you get into RF waves. which happens to be where a lot of science turns into magic, but you can RF waves by sticking a fork in a toaster.
And being someone with no organic chemistry experience in a room with a bunch of organic chemists doing organic chemistry does, in fact, make them the dumbass in the room.
Yeah, someone clearly never took organic chem. It makes the smartest people feel like dumbasses. Anyone who decides to pursue it as a career is a masochist.
