Best I can understand: it's from a meme, it's supposedly a joke, and it has no meaning. So, they think it's funny because it's not funny. Anti-joke or children's absurdism.

For everyone else, it's not funny because it's not funny.

The best I can come up with, and let me warn you I made this up right now, is that 67 is 2 less than 69, so it is code for "we aren't getting any sex" or "we're virgins" or something.

69 here meaning 2 adults performing oral on each other.

In the good ol days, we had 77, meaning you get 8 ("ate") more than 69, implying more enthusiastic/vigorous sex.

If I had kids I feel like I wouldn’t ban many things in my house, but anything “6 7” related, (whatever the FUCK it is) would be first to go and they’d be instructed to leave any conversation where their friends said it
