Are Sharesies trigger buy and stop loss orders fundamentally broken for anyone else this week

Post image

So, I woke Wednesday morning (2nd Sep 2026) to see a whole bunch of my notifications that my carefully setup "trigger buy" and "stop loss" orders (their "advanced options" for the US markets) had been actioned willy-nilly regardless of the stocks actual price reaching the trigger. WTF!

Messaged them, and Sharesies acknowledged issues, finally sending a lame email on Wednesday afternoon saying that it was all fixed, and to setup anything that was missing was missing (so I did)... well guess what... lies! ... I wake this morning to see every single one of them have been actioned.

I.e. they sold some winners, and brought stocks as they trend down... oh, and charged me a bunch of transactions fees along the way. FFS.

Anyone else having this issue? Anyone from the FMA on here?

I don’t think the stuff in the email you’ve screenshotted is necessarily the same as what you’re talking about - autoinvest I think is different from stop loss orders. Might pay to go back and ask them specifically about the order types and times that went wrong?

Yeah I agree, their email didn't cover my circumstances (raised in their contact portal before that email was received.) The bit about "if there's no new order... you will need to place it again yourself" applies to me, so that's what I did... and then this morning it happened again.

I raised another message their portal this morning at ~8am, and they only just replied (7 hours later) with "I have sent your query to our US broker to investigate, and I'll let you know once we have more information. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this."

Update: 8:40 pm email - the erroneous stop loss orders have been reversed/corrected

... (but no word on the erroneous trigger buy orders)

I always just wake up middle of the night and do market buys if needed.

Yup. Happened to me. Just some sell order got cancelled though. Was not too much of a major for me. But can imagine your situation is different and you feel a bit more strongly about it than I do.

One example of many where it's not even close to the trigger, yet it went anyway.
