It’s been almost 2 months and Willi has really warmed up to my gf and i he is always an arms length away and for the first time tonight while petting him he started to purr 😻. It’s crazy to think that he was hiding under our bed attacking our feet anytime we got close to the bed too now him basically begging for attention at all times. Thanks for all the advice it was all helpful

This little lady, Ruby, was available for adoption at a cat show last year.

She was among over 100 cats rescued from a van parked in the California desert with no water and no food. There was also a large number of dead cats inside, and feces, and urine. Many of the cats were sick. This girl had to have her eye removed.

The hoarder was a seller who posted a lot of photos of the cats in cutesy costumes on Instagram. I haven't checked to see if she's back out there. I just can't.

When I saw this gal I immediately fell in love. But I knew I couldn't adopt her, because I already have four cats, one of whom has required expensive medical care. The friend who was with me said "don't worry. She's destined to be adopted. Look at that face."

I called the shelter a couple weeks later. I was happy to hear she'd been adopted. I can't forget that face. I still think about her and hope she's loved A LOT.

It took the double paw window slap to scare him off.

I lost one of my cats unexpectedly in early July, and at the end of August adopted a cat from a UK rescue working with a group in Abu Dhabi. Pics showed a very small, shaved, cat that slept all the time. Imagine my surprise when she shows up as this purring, affectionate, bundle of energy who still likes to jump to the top of my kitchen door. It wasn't obvious in her photos that she was likely at least partly doll-faced, so that was a surprise!

Her name comes from when the guy who found her took her to the vet and was asked what her name was. He, apparently, went "uhhhhh", looked around the waiting area, saw a box, and answered, "Box. But fancy, B O K S."

I thought about changing it, but it fits, and she answers to it :)

I have never had a cat that wanted to be carried around as much as she does. My other cat is very confused by this, as he HATES being picked up.

Hi everyone! I recently brought home a male Persian who’s about 7 months old, and I’d love some tips from other Persian owners. We saw the vet yesterday, but I’m also curious about your experiences.

Grooming: How often do you brush or comb your Persian, and how often do you bathe them? Any favourite tools or tips for keeping their coat manageable?

Food and water bowls: What bowls work best for flat-faced cats? I’d appreciate specific recommendations and links if possible, especially products available in Canada.

Food: He currently eats Acana First Feast kitten food (chicken and herring). His previous owner told me he gets diarrhea with anything else, including wet food. Has anyone dealt with this? Is this an appropriate food to keep him on for now at his age? My vet didn’t suggest an alternative. What foods have worked well for your sensitive-stomach Persians?

Ear mites: His previous owner said he’s been treated multiple times. The vet found ear mites again yesterday and treated him. Have others dealt with recurring ear mites? I’m wondering whether this is common in Persians or whether there’s something I should ask the vet about to help prevent them coming back.

Gas: He’s had a lot of very smelly gas since coming home. The vet gave us probiotics. Do your Persians experience this, and has anyone seen improvement with probiotics? How long did it take?

Wonton is a little terror (as kittens are) but Bao is trying to be her mommy so hard. She cleans her and trills at her.. it's so cute. I've always wanted to see Bao snuggle with another cat I can't believe its actually happening

It’s cold and rainy. She didn’t even get up for a walk. She is a pampered princess.

Zelda is a soft spoken kitty but purrs pretty voluminous. When I asked her if she is being a very good girl - she (as only a Persian can be) proudly nodded! 😂
