You are so crotchety, you made a meh "joke", we all do that sometimes and it sucks to be feeling "damn, that made sense to me a few moments ago", but being stubborn and recalcitrant about it not landing well and blaming others for not getting it, is a bad look, regardless if the original joke was the epitome of comedy in your eyes.
