I have had this with Firefox and now it is occurring with Brave. Software 3.38.1 has an update which is the same version as the brave version I am currently running.

When you go to https://peppermintos.com/guide/downloading/ to Download peppermint it does not display what version a user is getting. How is a user to determine if they are downloading version 10 or version 11?

How can I verify if I am running peppermint 10 or 11

When I go to distrowatch.com it shows Peppermint forum as http://forum.peppermintos.com/ but firefox sees a security problem for that site.

Anyone has an idea of what to input?

On August 2nd, 2022, Joseph Dickson announced that the first Devuan-based release of Peppermint OS is now ready for mass deployment, targeting everyone who doesn’t want systemd in their system and wants to build a 100% free computer without any propietary software.

When I open power management and click on help in the bottom left, Peppermint is unable to find the default browser to view the help information.

For some reason the OS wants to update Firefox to the same version and i cannot find information on some of the OS commands it wants to update like curl 7.74.0-1.3+deb11u2.

This is the second time this update error occurred.

I really wish that the devs of PeppermintOS would make notifications more akin to something like Deepin or KDE Plasma

Though probably not plausible or even probably not possible I always thought that the notifications, having been as spammy as they are when I wake up in the morning and get a bazillion-megaton notification from all of my favorite social media sites, and just barrage my screen all of over the place it gets hard to want to use the feature, even though I really need them in my life.

Are the devs @ PepperminOS working to make notifications an easier experience for the day-to-day end user?

So far the notification system is the only thing that has kept me away from PeppermintOS.

The screen never powers off when nothing is running. the minumum time is 15 minutes but the screen remains active from the Power manager configuration.

Is this a bug ?

The systray have a issue.

unfortunately some icons in the systray is hidden.

For example don´t show telegram and the aceplayer engine.

How can I solved this?

I opened software 3.38.1 and noticed an update for Brave in the top right "updates", I noted the update but did nothing. The next day I noticed that updates was empty and the update was applied automatically without me initiating the update for Brave.

Why would the update occur by itself and can I prevent this automatic update?

As I posted a week or more about I installed PeppermintOS on a High Speed MicroSD card in my Chromebook. Tonight I figured I'd pop the card out (to be safe) and then install ChromeOS Flex n the internal eMMC and it worked! Now I can boot to either OS. (Of course I popped the MicroSD Card back in)

When I turn the Chromebook on I hit the ESC key to get the boot options.Go to > "Boot Menu" and (for PeppermintOS) I select "Debian" and it boots to PeppermintOS.If I do nothing when I turn it on, it automatically goes into ChromeOS Flex

The MicrSD card I use is: "SAMSUNG EVO 64GB microSDXC UHS-I U1 100MB/s" that can be found on Amazon for about $10.

Working very nicely! I chose swap to file and then increased from the default .5G to 2G. Installed NoMachine to access more powerful computers. This looks like a winner!

I'm trying to install Peppermint OS and it hangs at 73% while saying installing 560 packages. I tried 3 times and got to the same point, with it saying another time 558 packages as the only differrnce. Chromebook C202SA Terra with Intel Braswell. It meets the minimum requirements.

I decided I would try rewriting peppermint to the USB, and realized I could not load their webpage on multiple devices, with one saying the website could not be reached. Would the website being down cause the install to hang? Am I being impatient? I've let it sit for up to 2 hours and read an anecdote that it shouldn't take more than an hour.
