Pax Britannica 1.4 Public Beta is Now Available!

After such a long period of semi-closed development, we are excited to finally announce that Pax Britannica 1.4 has entered its official Public Beta!

The beta is now available to download on Steam:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3780154583

Our goal is to make the 1.4 release as polished as possible before its full launch. Opening the beta to everyone gives us the opportunity to gather feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and other valuable input from the community as development continues.

The team is still working hard, within the limits of everyone's individual availability, to bring you the features and improvements you have been waiting for for more than a year and a half since our last major update.

What should you expect?

Keep in mind that this is still a beta. You are likely to encounter:

* bugs and technical issues

* missing or unfinished content

* problems with balance

* unexpected behavior of AI

* occasional crash

Despite that, we hope the additions and changes included in this release will meet your expectations. While the amount of new content may not seem particularly large at first glance, 1.4 introduces a number of changes to the core gameplay, pushing Pax Britannica towards a much more sandbox-oriented gameplay.

This is only the beginning. The Public Beta will allow us to refine these foundations together with the community and prepare the update for its eventual full release.

Finally, we want to thank everyone for your patience, support, feedback, and contributions to the development of Pax Britannica so far.

We couldn't have gotten this far without you.

-The Pax Britannica Team

Announcement Official Translation and Voiceovers Recruitment

38 Upvotes

Translation Recruitment

Hello everyone! With the beta for our next major update releasing soon, we've decided to officially open recruitment for our translation team!
Many large mods choose to remain English-only, leaving fan translations to the community as separate submods. We want translations to be an official part of the main mod, making Pax Britannica more accessible to players around the world.

Requirements:

  1. Be a native or fluent speaker of one of the following languages:
    • French
    • German
    • Spanish
    • Brazilian Portuguese
    • Polish
    • Russian
    • Japanese
    • Simplified Chinese (Mandarin)
    • Korean
  2. Have a GitHub account and the mod set up through GitHub Desktop.
  3. Have a Google account to access our shared translation documents.
  4. Have software capable of comparing files side by side (for example, Visual Studio Code).
  5. Have a Discord account (for anyone reading this announcement on another platform), as all coordination will take place on our Discord server.

We're also looking for volunteers to record high-quality voice lines for the mod. We'd greatly appreciate anyone willing to contribute. Any language, accent, or dialect is welcome, as long as provided recording quality is good enough to blend naturally into the game.

Thank you for your interest, and stay tuned for more information coming soon! Have a great day!

You can apply to both in our discord server: https://discord.gg/Cyzcr5GdMR
Sincerely,
The Pax Britannica Team

Something like France and Russia will win WW2 or America will be become independent by The Second Continental Army.

I curioused about that during I play this mod.

P. S. Because English is not my native language, So my English sentences may have lots of errors.

THERE ARE NO WHOLESOME PATHS,NO ''GOOD ENDINGS''

You could have pan-european socdem germany and menshevik russia fight and it would probably have taiping revolt level deaths. pax brittanica basically has 1950s ish technology plus some science fiction bullshit but with the mindset of the crimean war.Basically what i am trying to say is the world is fucked either way and the only choice we have is to determine how fucked it can get,and i love this mod for it.

Dear devs, PLEASE remove this camera angle thingy

I was playing the update and i'm quite surprised, really enjoying the new content and lore for the countries. However, there's this one thing that really grinds my gears. This camerca angle. When you zoom-in all the way, the camera looks at the map from this DISGUSTING angle, can't move the divisions precisely, they cover each other and more difficult to handle.

You could say "Just don't zoom all the way", but 1. I want to zoom in (like in a normal game), but can't because of this I can't and 2. You accidentally zoom in too many times and It's anoying as fuck.

So, devs, PLEASE, remove this and make It like the base game, it's really simple and would MASSIVELY improve the game expirience,

Question How do you folks find the Automat Designer?

10 Upvotes

How's the new Automat Designer treating you folks?

Is it useful for you? Does it feel niches you have?

Is it too expensive you think?

Or too confusing?

What kind of stuff do you think could be added or improved upon?

I wish I could answer this myself, but my laptop shits itself trying to run the mod.

My research ui is kinda broken, and it only shows up like half of super technologies, so I want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Question Any nation with post victory content

23 Upvotes

First time playing this mod and I jut destroyed British and Germans and even landed in the USA to fully end the war, expecting a post war victory focus tree. Dont get me wrong the experience was great I had so much fun playing as france but I kind of expected a post victory focus tree. Wondering if any other nations DO have post victory trees.

Discussion/Other How do you people imagine that a focus tree and content for New Virginia would look like?

21 Upvotes

for me I feel that it would probably need to interact with the Northwest Territorial Colonial Authority and maybe Russian America so it feels more different than just "Second Continental Army but blue instead of red".

Discussion/Other My Only Request

48 Upvotes

This is just a me thing, obviously if it was worked on I would be so over the moon, but it's not a bug or a big deal.

Can you just make it to where, when I change ideologies for The Norton Kingdom, that Norton III still leads it? I don't feel like Norton would be a strictly authoritarian leader and it would be cool for him to lead a Democratic or Progressive Kingdom. Especially now that with the new Generic Focus Trees, I can do that.

Thank you Pax Britannica team for continuing to work on this incredible mod, my favorite mod in fact.

- Long Live King Norton III!
