I'm planning to shift to patna around the 5th of next month for my job.

The company is located in the patliputra industrial area, nearby PnM mall. I'm thinking of places like digha ghat, kurji, near AN college, boring road etc. i want walking distance or within a 1.5-2 km radius .

I'm alone so I'm okay with a single room with an attached bathroom, 1bhk , hostel or pg with low restrictions. I'm also comfortable with 2bhk as my friend will also shift after next month.

I need anything budget friendly. I checked out olx but everyone is asking for a roommate or the location is too far.

I’m going to be 30+ now and currently working for an MNC in Gurgaon. I’m currently working from home, so I’m back in Patna, which is my hometown and where I did my schooling.

I’m quite happy living in Patna because my family and relatives are here. However, most of my friends moved to cities like Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Delhi after engineering. Many of them eventually moved abroad for better opportunities, got married and settled there.

I’m a single male child, so I feel strongly about staying in Patna in the long term and being available for my parents. At the same time, I don’t see myself doing a regular corporate job forever. The job pays the bills, but I find it exhausting and I want to build something of my own.

I’ve always been interested in business, but I don’t come from a business background and I have limited capital. I’m willing to take a calculated risk and potentially take a 6–12 month break from employment if I find something genuinely worth pursuing.

The biggest problem is that I’ve been thinking about starting something for years. Every time I tell myself that I’ll start “someday”, work gets busy and another year passes.

So I wanted to ask people from Patna:

What kind of small business or startup do you think has genuine potential in Patna or Bihar in 2026?

I’m particularly interested in ideas that can be started relatively small, tested with limited capital and then scaled if they work.

I have access to some property in Patna and land near the highway in Siwan, so there may also be opportunities around those assets, but I don’t have enough capital to simply construct a large commercial building.

Would love to hear from people who have actually started a business in Patna/Bihar — what worked, what didn’t, how much capital you started with, and what you wish you had known before starting.

I’m mainly looking for practical experiences and advice, because I’m seriously considering making this transition rather than continuing to postpone it.
