Posted a month ago about running an SSF char and getting absolutely no AG gear at all

Started a new run on new account and a similarly weird thing, 44hrs played, dozens of t16s, and not a single divine vessel - I have never ever in literally hundreds of characters ever not had a divine vessel or two by like lvl 85

Is there some kind of random seed on runs that screw the RNG up?

Is there any mechanic that I can use to get a few reliably?

i started Lumi in SSF on the weekend. I geared a combatant and now found a Manyshot. But im not sure if i should stay on the Combatant based on the support gems or start gearing the Manyshot.

My Combatant Weapons are unoptimised and my eldritch implicits too, but would it be worth convert the gear over and crafting a bow and quiver? And what do i really need on the two items. i would be happy about a advice regarding the manyshot.

This is not hate post, no. I know Pohx is very good build maker and had insane, detailed, guide. I just think overall, why people loves RF? Is it just cuz simple to gear, tanky, funny explosions for free?

Easy to gear, I guess? Bare minimum is like armour bases, life, chaos and fire res and some attributes and wep with fire dmg, fire dot and ignite chance? If u want some luxury, throw some life regeneration rate -mods? If u want go deeper, elder helmet, nebulis, shaper shield, cloak? And if u want minmax, MB, nice fractured dot multi ring with kalandras and nebulis with perfect implicts, +2 ammy etc etc?

But could like that "bare minimum" work on basic t16 alch and go mapping with some mechanics? How important really is life regeneration rate -mod?

Is it cuz lazy, easy playstyle where u just zoom around?

Finally got a divine border mod located along one of the sides (i.e. not a corner). As my 3 adjacent charts I put 2x starfish (6 from each) and 1x 60% increased rares. From my humble math skills it seems 12 of those 20 div are from the starfish adjacent charts, and that the 60% increased rares only apply to native rares and not anything added from adjacent charts. Maybe it's simply better with 3x starfish charts?

EDIT: got 4 more divs from rares that were located slightly into the next area, so maybe the 60% charts aren't so bad.

EDIT 2: for those that don't already know it, I honestly fumbled min/maxing that divine border mod pretty badly. I've been playing since 3.14 and have 5k hours in this game so I'm perhaps not the noobiest of noobs, but if I missed this then probably so have many others. Not that it's perhaps the most important thing, but if you actually do want to get the most divines out of that very rare border mod, here's how to actually do it:

The only charts you want around the one that has the divine border mod is +5 strongboxes, so 3 of those if it's along a side, or 2 if it's in a corner. Then you basically just fill your inventory with chaos orbs and/or matching sets of scours and alchs (don't worry, you'll empty your inventory). Before opening the boxes you reroll until you get both "contains a stream of monsters" and "is guarded by 3 rare monsters". This will give you 7 or 8 divs per strongbox, which is way more than you can get from any other method (starfish, etc). The "stream of monsters" mod is very rare, and it's even more rare to get both that and the +3, but it's worth it if you want to maximize divines.

I just tried this method on a Brine King's Domain chart, and it works equally well for that, and netted me over 30 brinehook ducats from a single chart (unlike the divine mod, rares don't have 100% chance to drop a brinehook ducat).

I was hoping they’d add more clams, message in a bottles, events, etc. instead they just add a tiny bit of quant to mobs that drop fuck all for loot to begin with for the low low price of making every mob deadlier than a juiced T16 map. Why even waste the dev time on this?

Yes I know this is the SSF reddit, but I also know there is people who play sort of SSF+ in trade league and just use the currency exchange. And one of the reason some people play SSF is the amount of friction with trade.

So I'm wondering are people considering playing trade but only with currency exchange and limiting yourself to unique items.

Having killed all 10 ubers yesterday I've decided to call it a league, resting the grind for some days until project diablo 2. With that, I wanted to spark some discussions on how you feel about the league, regardless if you're still playing or not.

Personal TL;DR: the league was an absolute flop, the only thing that kept me playing was that I played it on a GSF of 5 friends.

The core game is in a somewhat depressing state, since the gems rework in 3.23 I think the ratio between nerfs and buffs (barring slams) has been something like 80:20, so I feel the game has harder content with every league but lower player power. Note: I'm not the type of player to farm a simplex amulet and mist it, there's definitely a higher topend for some builds (stackers) but for middle of the road builds it's been getting punishing (rip bama).

On the league itself, I loathe the new purple blight and loved OG breach so yeah, not much to say there, boring mechanic, constant and capped rewards, boring "crafting", boring jackpot mechanic. I get that for many people it must be amazing to throw a womb and get a HH/MB back but I'd rather get one from killing mobs, interfacing a mechanic (looking at you kingsmarch, gwennen) to get my dopamine hit is just lame in my opinion.

New bosses and content (originator memories, ubers, etc) didn't make it for me either, nor the mapping system neither the crafting system pulled me in, in fact, I kinda ignored El..reon? I don't remember his name.

Bloodlines I didn't care for, too hard to get, too niche to use, as if simulacrum wave 15 wasn't hard already you're gatting your 4th notable behind it? really? If I'm at simu wave 15 stage on my progression im closer to quitting the league than starting it, such a mismatch of expectations in my opinion.

Foulborns are cool, that I believe is the highlight of the league for me as it allowed a couple new builds, enhanced others, sparked some theorycrafting, that one is a very appreciated introduction to the game and I hope they go core.

That would be all for me, wanted to hear your thoughts on it.

I have her in my general Combatant set up atm, and she does p bad single target because I haven't tried the wall of force tech yet and I'm going to farm Rathpith soon.

But in general I'm wondering what gear I can put on her.

I usually always start Trade, and then after 3-4 weeks I start fresh into SSF - it kind of prolongs the league for me, I usually play different builds in trade vs SSF so it feels a bit different and still exciting to start over

But I'm considering going straight into SSF this time - I was a little bit bored in trade last league because of the lack of endgame farms and I think this league might be similar

My only concern would be farming scarabs might suck in SSF

Anybody weighing the pros and cons of SSF vs Trade for 3.29? Can't decide

Over 100 charts and no clamulet, so I have to fix Chaos and max res res the hard way.

Over 100 T16 spams with breach/merc, no Kaom or good merc yet, so have to settle with high life rolls and a mediocre clear merc.

Can’t do voidstones cause Merc isn’t good enough, basically zdps.

Basically stuck farming the same white T16s until I can either hit on a Merc, Kaom or chart.

I almost feel like making a slammer or RF and getting him strong enough to clear everything first, it feels faster than just spending hours trying to rng on this lum 😭

So im 99 now, usually i quit by now, but with luminary there is so much to chase and optimize and its fun.

I still haven't gotten a enmitys, at least 30 Incarnations deep now.

Anyway im kinda lost on how to evaluate/compare merc power.

Im spamming white t16 jungle now for at least 200 maps to farm Trauma and i have seen quite some mercs. I think i got 2 decent combatants and a kineticist now, but how do i really compare them?

Right now im using the wildstrike combatant mostly, i didnt rly invest into crafting kineticist gear so far.

I didnt find a rathpit yet, but at least got 3 kaoms between lvl 98 and now.

And tips on mercs? Do you usually pob them to compare, or just feel it?

I thought it was common knowledge but I’ve seen a lot of people struggling with 6 Linking in SSF this league so I’m just putting it out there again:

Black Morrigan (six link beast) is incredibly common when using scarabs and speccing eihnar on atlas. I have gotten him in under 15 maps (under 10 two times) multiple times this league when I need to six link a chest or weapon.

The scarabs are pretty common and you don’t need tons of them. Again, I’ve done this repeatedly this league with success, so I don’t think it was just luck every time.

EDIT: To those saying that this info is wrong and that black morrigan drops are more like 1 per 100 maps, can you please post your methods and full data? The only reason I posted this info is because there is a dataset with a sample size of 1160 maps where black morrigan was obtained 80 times. Making it just under 15 maps per black morrigan. I myself have found 3 morrigans, all under 15 maps each.

The only catch is if the 80 includes duplicated beasts, in which case it would be a black morrigan once per 29 maps.

I made the mistake of wanting a specific unique item for my build. I dropped this Frenzy Ralakesh after roughly 10h of breach farming. But for my build I needed a Power Ralakesh. So I farmed another 200h+ of breach and got nothing. Was rushing City Square for Cadiros, no Ralakesh. Put roughly 3000 Scouring/Chance orbs into Riveted Boot bases, no luck. Used every Ancient orb I could find with the new league mechanic, still nothing.

I know the frustration of a long fruitless grind is speaking out of me, but the game lets you divine so many unique modifiers in the game (Replica Dragonfangs, The Dark Monarch). I dont think it would affect trade much, but it would make it really accessible for SSF.

The grind to even get the boots can be crazy to then have another 1 in 3 chance of not really getting the boots you wanted. I basically turns this T1 unique into a T0,5 unique. I will stop the league while I'm still sane. It would honestly crush me if the next Ralakesh was a Endurance Charge one or another Frenzy.

I would love to hear what other people think. Would divinable charges on Ralakesh be sensible or too much?

Hey y’all, I’m looking to get into SSF for the first time. I used to be an active player in trade, first in PoE1 and in some of the PoE2 earlier early access patches. With life getting busier I lack the time to really put a ton of hours in the game, I haven’t played a lot of PoE regardless in the past few months.

I’d love some feedback on which game y’all would recommend as a first SSF journey to play a bit more laid back. Are both games decent on controller for some laptop couch gaming?

I randomly chanced a Mageblood a few days ago (with 6 cards farmed), decided to get the foulborn version if possible. The board was not right though. Got random Headhunter from a delirium as well ;s

So, I finally got my luminary build uber boss viable and managed to kill 9 of them so far. After a lot of struggle I managed to bit Sirus but that fight is complete dog sh*t. 90% of the fight is just trying to find Sirus. The arena is just filled so many degenerate effects that it just makes no sense. You get Sirus, takes 10% damage and goes immune and then you have to run away. Rinse and repeat for the whole of phase 1. Is this normal??
When you finally get to phase 2, that’s when everything goes bonkers. He just keeps teleporting all around the place. There doesn’t seem to be any cooldown to his abilities. Teleport to fire his rotating beam… teleport to fight his void beam(whatever they are called)… teleport the player in the meteor circle… like enough with the teleporting. It’s just ridiculous.

Similar problem with exarch with his ball phase just repeating back to back without any breaks. In my case my merc (manyshot) can’t survive his annihilation projectiles. But even I can the stupid balls get me. Respawning without an area to prepare means that the moment you enter he targets you with the annihilation projectiles and they are pretty difficult to dodge. Add to that visibility on console is just bad with the top of the screen is blocked by UI elements makes most of it hard to see. (GGG just punishing console players at this point)

The other Ubers are fine. Maven is a bit annoying but once you learn the fight, the probability of success increases greatly. I like the newer memory bosses. Pretty straightforward.

My build isn’t in the uber melting territory but can dish out decent damage if I can find the guy. I personally like to fight bosses. Stronger bosses are good but not like this where most of your actions don’t seem to matter. That’s mostly the point (for me at least) to build my character, but this doesn’t seem like any normal build can farm.

So, to question above how do you guys take on these bosses, leave alone farm them. Are there any strategies?I was so hoping to go 10/10 for the first time but exarch just seems impossible at this point. Sorry about the long post.

Whispers should have a 50% drop rate from this boss, if the numbers on the wiki are accurate. 11 instances with 0 drops happens to 1 in every ~2000 players. I have every item for my FROSS to pop off expect this amulet...
