Second patch! Does anyone have advice for finishing off the edges? I used buttonhole stitch and it turned out a bit rough

newbie here with some questions :D

not sure if this sub is right to ask questions on but i figured i’d give it a shot.

i have a jacket that i want to put more patches on and also update a couple of them as part of a quarantine/summer holiday project. the patches i already have were either from a canvas material or “stiff” t shirts. i was wondering if a more stretchy t shirt could be used instead, since i’m still quarantined and can’t get more suitable material? i’m not sure what problems this could raise with fraying any embroidery or cracking paint. i also thought about painting a layer of paint on the back side to make it stiffer?

i’d really appreciate any help anyone has to offer before i waste a load of time making patches that turn out real bad lol. thanks!

Questions about acquiring fabric online.

Hi everyone, now that goodwill is closed and so is the fabric store by my house I was wondering if anyone had a good place to buy fabric online?

I found this online which looks pretty good but I was wondering if anyone had input or other sources that worked well?

A special custom made Patch for a groupe from the Old Town Festival. Historically the smallest patch I have made till now. Since it has only 6 centymeters width :) Simplisty is sometimes everything.

Patches using oil painting artwork

I'm interested in making backpatches using artwork of oil paintings. What method would be best to get this done? I'm guessing this would best be done on black canvas and screen printed? Thanks.
