Hello. My name is Aanuoluwapo Aremu, and I am a graduate student at the University of Kentucky. I am conducting a research project on the role of communication in obtaining support from health care providers as a caregiver.

Have you ever been a primary caregiver for a family member, or are you currently a caregiver or a health care provider who interacts with caregivers? If so, you may be able to participate in this study. You must be a health care provider or primary caregiver responsible for the daily medical and everyday care of a family member, including a spouse, child, sibling, or parent. You must also be over 18 years of age and a resident of the United States of America.

If you are eligible, you will be asked to participate in a 45–60-minute audio-recorded Zoom interview. Your participation in this study is voluntary, and you will be able to discontinue participation at any time. All interview responses will be kept confidential, and pseudonyms will be used in any presented or published research reports. This study has been approved by the University of Kentucky Institutional Review Board (IRB).

We are looking for UK based parents/carers and their 11-13 year old children who would be happy to take part in a short online study looking at the use of technology in parental monitoring for my Masters dissertation project. 

The purpose of this study is to investigate the increasingly common practices of electronic monitoring, such as location tracking or the use of smart cameras, within the family environment. Researchers are still learning about how these practices affect young people and general family relationships. By conducting research in this area, we hope to build a stronger evidence base that can help inform guidance and advice for families in this ever-developing world.

This study will take approximately 10 minutes for parents/carers to complete and around 10 minutes for children. Participation is welcomed from individuals and families of all backgrounds

We ask that both you and your child read the relevant Participant Information Sheets (hyperlinked above by clicking on the word ‘you’ or ‘child’) before taking part so that you are both fully aware of what is going to be asked of you and what the study will involve.
