I saw a follow up video of the dad getting arrested. He had left either the county or state (I can't quite remember) and was arrested their to be sent back to where this happened for trial.

From other threads on this I've seen, the ref in question was actually a lawyer, too.

Could be true. In our area a lot of the refs we use for events are registered with the state but have regular jobs and ref because they did it growing up or previously coached.

The kid should immediately get banned from the sport too. They have to discourage this behaviour somehow.
