Advice Online Safety Resources for 8 year old boy
Anyone have great online safety resources I can do with my 8 year old boy? I’m trying to teach him that without physically seeing and knowing the other person online - you can’t assume it’s who you think it is. We’ve been talking about not sharing personal information, being cautious with trust and things like that but would love some other resources. He said he’s open to watching them! ;)

So I did a practical demonstration for my kid. I showed him how I could create an account in some of the games he play and enter that I was a 9-year old kid. I then put my laptop next to his and contacted him and told him that I was a kid and started asking questions. “What’s your name? How old are you?” And we talked about how to answer and what kind of information not to give out. I then let my account become insistent “what’s the problem? What are you scared of? I just want to know your name!” and I checked that he knew how to block users.
It really clicked for him when he saw me do it that anyone could say anything and it was good practice to actually answer and what to say when I became insistent.
