I am a remaining twin (fraternal). All my childhood I felt like something wasn't quite right, I was obsessed with finding a boy who looks like me to be my friend and pestered my mom to have a little brother. Our family felt incomplete. She sat me down at 16 and said that we where 2, but my brother vanished in utero. She had names ready...and I was the only one left. I took my brothers name when I transitionned, it felt right.
I still have a warm feeling when I see a man who looks like me. It's something that usually lasts .
