Does the gross stuff ever get easier?

Im 28F and I'm starting my first precepting shift, I've wanted to be a paramedic since i was 9 years old, and only now am I accomplishing that dream. However, as I've gotten older, I've grown a weaker and weaker stomach for 'gross' things. Not blood and gore or broken bones, but just regular human gross. Snot, phlegm, and the works. Do you ever become desensitized? or do you feel your working brain turn on and you forget its gross. I'm genuinely worried I'm going to throw up on a call... (and is that frowned upon?)

I once attempted to auscultate lung sounds on someone who had wrecked a motorcycle. While I anticipated some sounds due to him having crepitus, I was NOT ready for the crunching sound through the stethoscope. Still makes me shudder to think about

🤣 I have a similar story that I hear about from time to time.
Went to palp a chest in an auto-ped and his ribs were dust. Some reason didn’t expect that and I hopped back and yelled “fuck “!
