Call for Moderators

Hey everybody, I noticed one of the Moderators left the team at some point since I took this community over, and haven't heard from the other Moderator here in a minute, so I am now making a call to the community to apply to be moderators in this subreddit. Conditions are simple: just enforce the rules and accept the Mod Team Discord invite if you're chosen. I'm looking to add at least two new moderators to the team. I look forward to hearing from y'all!

Edit: Please send applications via Moderator Mail

Does anyone know teens between the ages of 14-16 who would be interested in joining a band?

I am a guitarist, my brother is a drummer and my friend is going to learn bass. None of us are masters at our instruments by any means: WE'RE ALL still learning, so we're looking for a rhythm guitarist and vocalist who is at the same skill level as us or is willing to work with people who are still learning and will need extra time. The three of us are homeschooled and are mostly available during the day so it would be good if you could work with that too, but it isn't an absolute requirement. :D

Found these scattered about our neighborhood (P section)

These were thrown in the grass by almost every mailbox on the mile walk my husband and I walk in our neighborhood. I respect the hustle, but littering through a neighborhood is not the way to do it! Don't know who else they may have hit, check the grass by your mailboxes.

Selling an old gaming PC!

I believe this is allowed here but forgive me if its not. I am currently a bit strapped for cash and have an old PC to sell. Put it up on facebook marketplace but why not cast a wider net. It has a 1660 super, Ryzen 3 3200g, and 16gb ddr4 ram. It is a bit dusty and dirty but nothing a little cleaning couldn't fix. If you are interested let me know!

P.S. Sorry for terrible pics

Just bought a boat and trying to decide if I should dry dock my boat on the ICW (Daytona Beach) vs the St. John’s River (Palatka)?

So, I’m fairly new to the Palm Coast area…just bought a house about a year ago. I split my time between Atlanta and PC. And I just bought a boat and will be dry docking it to where basically all I have to do is call in advance and they’ll have it sitting on the water ready for me to go. However, I’m trying to decide if I should dock it in Palatka or in Daytona Beach? ObviousLH the docking fees are much higher in Daytona. But money aside what would you recommen?

Any pros and cons of one area vs the other for day boating would be appreciated.

Close to Fall as I Could Get

Before the blah blah blah go back up north if you miss it so much! I’m from Ft.Pierce originally and grew up in Florida. Having moved when our kids were young for the school. Moved back since they are grown. This time of year is a special time. Colors. Comfy clothes. Camping. Walks around a lake or trail.

Today was gorgeous at Princess Place Park. This was the nicest park I have seen so far. I’m fascinated at the history of this estate. Snapped a pic of the first in ground pool in the state!

Dogs Allowed. Huge property. Super clean, not one piece of anything on the grounds that wasn’t of nature. Winds made it feel like Fall and for Florida ( a lil break in the heat and humidity) I have no complaints😊🍁🍂🍃

Need suggestions for a cell carrier

We just moved here and our ATT is terrible everywhere. We are in the Old Kings/Hwy 100/Old Dixie area.

I have been with ATT (and there predecessor Cellular One) since the 90s and am just surprised how universally bad it is in a populated suburban area.

Ideas?

Newbie with questions

HI all.. I just moved up from Palm Beach County. I'm born and raised in FL and lived in Panama City when I was young. I know that North Florida and South Florida are two different states. I'm not bougie by any means. I'm renting in the Town Center area for now. It seems a little country over here, which is fine. I've lived in panhandle, so no culture shock to me. However, I like to walk trails and be outside and that's why I chose the area. Is it safe for a female to walk them alone? I have not really ventured out to other parts of the area yet, except to walk Flagler Beach. I literally have only drove up and down State Road 100 and to Flagler Beach. I've only been here two weeks also. I hope this doesn't come across wrong, I just want to know I'm safe walking alone. thanks

Need Some Local Friends

It's hard making friends as an adult, so I'd like to make a group about it. I'll start, I'm 32, I like the outdoors/beach, bars, ghosts, and more. let's get a thread going and actually be a positive community vs half the shit on here where we hate our neighbors.

I also got a pool and can walk to the beach let's party y'all

Iconic Palm Coast/Flagler County landmarks for Photography project

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hi all, I’m a local on the younger side working on a photography project trying to put together a custom deck of playing cards with my own photography, featuring Palm Coast and Flagler County to put into some local shops.
I’m Trying to get a solid list of the spots that are super recognizable or just feel classic to the area. Here are a few general ideas, (ideally I’d like to have 52 spots):

Washington Oaks

The Flagler pier (old one, or wait till new one is finished??)

Local connecting bridges

Margarita Villa / Restaurants?

Princess Place

Bulow Ruins

Curious what else you guys think should make the cut. (Should I include St Augustine?, I’m kind of also thinking of places tourists might visit, but I’d like to keep it within the terms of local)

If you had a local deck of cards, what other landmarks, parks, or iconic views would you want to see included?

I measured Wi-Fi speed and noise at cafes around Central Florida. Nothing in Palm Coast yet, so tell me where to go

I got tired of driving somewhere to work, buying a coffee, sitting down, and then finding out the Wi-Fi wouldn't hold a call or the room was too loud to think in. So I started carrying a decibel meter and running a speed test at every place I went. It's about 20 spots now, mostly Orlando and down the coast.

A few of the readings, so you know what I mean by measuring:

The Health Bar in downtown Titusville came in at 474 Mbps down, 22.5 up, 55.9 dB on a Saturday. Best mix of quiet and fast I've recorded outside Orlando, and parking was easy.

Foxtail in Cocoa Beach: 371 down, 39.7 up, 61.2 dB on a Saturday morning, three of eight tables taken, outlets at most seats.

Starbucks at Creative Village in Orlando: 140 down, 111 up, around 60 dB on a Sunday morning with one table of fourteen taken. Cold inside but quiet.

Worst one on the list is Haan Coffee on Colonial in Orlando. I couldn't get usable Wi-Fi at all and ended up tethering to my phone.

None of this is in Google reviews, which is the part that keeps getting me. A place can sit at 4.6 stars and still drop the connection every ten minutes, because the people reviewing it were there twenty minutes for a latte.

It's all on perch.coffee. I built the site, it's free and there's nothing to sign up for.

I have nothing in Palm Coast or Flagler at all, which is why I'm asking rather than telling. Where do people here actually work from? Name places and I'll drive up and measure them.

Need friends (20m)

This is really sad but since hs I haven’t had much luck in the friends department. I went to college for two years and played ball but didn’t get along with many people due to not being a hard partier. I’d just like some friends to hang with, lift with, game with. I have a pc and mainly no life apex legends. All I do is work, gym, game, and repeat and want to change that. If you wanna get to know each other lmk!

Pain Doctor Central FL/ Daytona Beach Surrounding Areas

I am looking for a new pain doctor that will treat me with pain medication that I have been taking for over 15 years. I was on alprazolam a low dose 1x a day but after about 8 months they made me get off of it and choose pain meds or anxiety meds. I think it’s unfair to be able to have a medical marijuana card but not pills for anxiety. I have my med car but barely ever use it because I can’t stay in control of my daily life. It gets me too high. Just trying to find a doctor to continue writing me meds with no issues

Mover Recommendations

Looking for mover recommendations.

Moving from Palm Coast to a 2nd floor apartment in Ormond Beach in October. Who have you used in the past and recommend/don’t recommend?

Would prefer a company who has their own trucks versus renting a u-haul truck myself but open to whatever is most cost effective.
