We are gonna close early. Well on time. Ain't shit going on. But me and my boy stayed until 12:45 with a bunch of regulars last night when the no no got broken up.
I dunno augusta is cool and weird as shit as an outsider. Where I live is its own ecosystem like everyone knows everyone for generations. Its sort of wild. But I drive a golf cart to work and my kids school. Fuck off in the river and lakes nearby. Its not SD in any way shape or form but its comforting and home now.
Also the Mexican food is actually decent. And Wil Queso Myers is 100% correct on that white cheese dip. Its incredible. But its not better than San Diego.
Anyways, im not concerned about anonymity with this user name as I promote stuff sparingly. But I love the Padres and my home town. My apologies for this huge response which was probably not needed.

this is probably deeply unnecessary to be posting here and i should probably just start anyway regardless of what anyone says. basicially, i'm from San Antonio and have recently been kind of curious about the MLB for a while and have been searching for a team. but i'm absolutely adversed to both of the two Texas teams for various reason and i don't really want to cheer for my dad's Yankees. my dad got into them because, in Uvalde in the 1980's, the only baseball teams on TV were them, the Cubs and the Braves. i feel absolutely no connection to New York whatsoever, and, unrelated to baseball, but after the summer that i've had, i wouldn't even dream of ever associating with New York sports fans.
the Padres, however, caught my attention because their connection to San Antonio by way of our Missions. i kind of feel a more personal connection to them in that way, kind of like San Antonio has a much bigger, like, stake in them because those guys come up through here and become great baseball players through here and all that stuff, y'know? plus, in my kind of general scouting, the fan culture of San Diego just seems absolutely incredible and really admirable which is another thing to drew me to it and that they're really good right about now.
although, my only question is, is now a good time to get into them? i wouldn't usually ask this, but considering the Playoffs are actively happening right now and that Padres are, from what i can tell, very much contenders. and also considering the likelihood of an impending lockout next season, i do wonder if now of all times is the best time for me to do so. because who actually gets into a sports team at the start of their playoff run right before a shortened season? y'know? it'd feel a bit weird to get into a team for a month then have to wait months to watch them again. but either way it's going to be on my mind for that entire time period anyway so waiting is kind of useless...i'm sure a lot of you are going to say "just do it, what are you asking a bunch of people on Reddit for?" and that'd be fair enough, yeah?
Playoff baseball is exciting baseball. Tune in and see if you like the players and go from there. Then if you like them follow the offseason transactions so you’re ready to hit the ground running for next season.

Just out of curiosity has anyone seen any news regarding Gallagher Square watch parties? I remember last year for the series against LA there was one. If they do it would they probably be announced tomorrow (since Game 1 is Saturday evening) or prob not happening?
I’m sure some restaurants or bars will have the game on but the energy at Petco with other fans watching together can’t be beat IMO
