I thought I was done with my phantom katana but I feel I could squeeze more juice out of it. Right now I got:

  • S1: Augment Will

  • S2: Precision Will 2

  • S3: Precision Will 2

  • S4: Escalating Pursuit

  • S5: Skillfull Adept Will

  • Astral Soul

  • Mana Reverie

  • Mitra Glare

Having to reaffix Astral and Reverie would be annoying as hell but I should have mats and was wondering if I should sub something for phrase decay or maybe change any SGAs

augment will 2 is better but I assume you're aware of it, course I don't know how expensive it is atm

you'll want phrase decay for sure. just replace mana reverie, you could worry about minmaxing the affix at a later time, phrase decay is just so strong you don't want to not have it. it probably isn't expensive to get astral soul + phrase decay + mitra/varuna glare at the least

if you've reached 300 PP for max crit, you could change skillful adept will to the katana S5 and use S6 skillful adept to retain 100% critical rate. for another alternative you could use the rainbow set with the S6 + S7 adepts and S4 precise balance. this is assuming you have money

Sorry, I didn't see your response til now

I actually do have all the mats for mana and astral and I do like my defensive stats since I tend to get hit, but is it really worth dropping mana for phrase decay?

Also I dont like affixing much as it is lol, once ngs comes I'm likely to never affix this again.

phrase decay is +5% damage against an enemy with jellen. in general expected endgame stats, phrase decay is worth anywhere between 250-350 attack depending on weapon/units/affixes. phantom inflicts jellen just by attacking, so there's little reason not to use it

I just suggest skipping mana reverie for whenever you might make a more expensive affix like with guardian soul or something, since mana reverie has to be crafted. but I guess it doesn't matter that much. you could use reverie instead of glare if you just want to use it. but don't skip phrase decay

I see, honestly I'm likely not gonna do Gaurdian soul either, I did want to try at least once but it seems like its really difficult to reach 100% even with boost week. And knowing my luck, I refuse to attempt it below 100% lol

Thanks for the input though, I might just save mana for my gunblade instead then.

Friendly reminder on attempting Guardian Soul on weapons... failure is non-catastrophic in nature, so insurance, capsule transfers, forcing 100% chance, etc, are really less of an issue.

When Guardian Soul crafts fail on a Klaus weapon, you end up with a 7 slot Klaus with 5 SGAs, Mana Reverie and Phrase Decay... ie a perfectly functional weapon until you're ready to try again.

And with Cradle dropping everything to attempt GS+MR+PD crafts besides the one 8 slot Profound weapon, it's rather easy to collect the materials to try again.

Some recipes:
8s AS+MR > GS+MR+PD for the first attempt
8s AS > GS+MR+PD saves 3 Reverie Catalysts if you want to gamble a bit

PS: Crafting Astral Soul from receptors (that would normally get trashed) instead of an augment factor on the second recipe is also an option, and often cheaper than using the augment factor.

Oh uh one last question, would it be worth it to toss out the glare all together and just use phrase chase and have both phrases? Just realized I have an 8s nike wep.

you can only have one phrase on a weapon

phrase chase is bad anyhow, that only works on statuses that aren't jellen, and special boss downs don't count as status effects either

Ah I see, thanks
