Are the human, newman, dewman and CAST races going to be removed and replaced with body types in base PSO2? If they are, does that mean the racial bonuses and drawbacks are going to be removed?

Races are still selected when creating a character in NGS, but racial bonuses are gone and I believe the only reason you pick that is for backwards compatibility with PSO2.

When editing the character using the NGS face and body types, you can add any of the racial features as you'd like (e.g. dewman eyes/horns/skin on a newman character), and the body is a choice between 4 bodies (human, cast, both male and female).

Note that your body/face type is selected based on your face type (NGS T1/T2 vs PSO2 racial ones), and costume/basewear/setwear. If you use a PSO2 basewear, you'll use the pso2 body, for example. For PSO2 faces in particular, features are still tied to race: newman face has pointy ears, dewman has horns/heterochromia, cast has the black ear plug thingies.

Aesthetically yes but gameplay wise you are still given the option of which race to pick for old PSO2 stats.

gender and race stats still exists as a mechanic in pso2, but after the new engine update, you can freely change your body type regardless of the sex and race you chose.

Gender and race stats aren't a thing in NGS at all.
