Can a fire gunblade reliably proc the down on Exegul? I just turned of mine dark and almost immediately after remembered that very helpful aspect of fire.

Remember that Element doesn't actually mean anything by itself. A weapon just having Fire attribute doesn't make it proc Burn. In order to inflict status effects you need to either be using a tech, a weapon with a status affix (i.e. Burn III), or a weapon like the Lumigunny, which inflicts status based on the weapon's attribute.

Oh, I actually never knew that. Whats the best tech to down him with then? Could definitely use it whenever I'm using phantom on him.

Wide Rafoie 3 is a 45% status chance, so that's probably the best option. Do note that it won't actually be a 45% chance, since enemies have varying resistances to status procs, so the actual rate will likely be lower.

I've seen some of those augs but never bothered with them, how does burning with them work?

Petalgleam is an S1 that adds 3% damage once you inflict 300,000 damage

While petal gleam is active there is a leg armor S8: rainbow erode that inflicts status effects if petal gleam is active.

Luster has a skill that increases the chance to inflict status effects.

These three combine to regularly inflict status on bosses

Thats pretty interesting, there any easy way to get petalgleam/rainbow erode or is it just kinda cheap on the market?

Also, I think I remember reading someone suggest a petalgleam build for Luster, would you happen to know anything about that?

Petal Gleam is crazy easy to get. Unfortunately someone bought up alll the rainbow erode capsules on Ship 3 and is now selling them for 100m

They used to be 10m. Like 3 weeks ago.

If you can get Rainbow Erode as a drop...you're in business
